Guest guest
Hi Vicky, read the following information here. As y our daughter has not had a period for four months, she should visit her GP to be checked out - http://www.uptodate.com/contents/patient-information-absent-or-irregular-periods?source=see_link Luv - Sheila First of all I wish you all a Happy and Healthy New Year! Does anybody know if taking levothyroxine can effect a woman's periods. My Daughter has been taking levothyroxine since March and has not had a period for 4 months now. She is 25 years old and previous to starting levothyroxine had very bad heavy almost constant periods. She is currently taking 75mg of levothyroxine. __
Guest guest
Hi SheilaMank thanks for your reply and the links you sent me. Sorry I did not thank you sooner.I have emailed my Daughter's Endo and have let him know of the situation and any advcenhe may have to give. He did do a full hormone test for her some months back and said that they appeared to be fine.On the links you sent me it was very interesting to note that one of the reasons for absence of periods could be due to adhesions which my Daughter has suffered from since she was 18 years along with endometriosis. Since jointing your site I have found out that being under active with the thyroid causes endometriosis along with many other things, most of which my Daughter has suffered from. Many thanks again for the info. TPA is a wealth of information and support, and I can only thank you for all the time and effort you have and still are putting into this. Your stamina and commitment is an exmple to all and many many Doctors and Consultants could sure learn mu h from you.Happy New Year and continued good health.Vickyanne From: Sheila <sheila@...>; To: <thyroid treatment >; Subject: RE: levothyroxine and effect on periods Sent: Fri, Dec 30, 2011 12:12:39 PM Hi Vicky, read the following information here.
