Guest guest
I have worked out with many tests etc, that I have a problem with cellular uptake of thyroid as I am low in Ferritin (29, range 20 - 200), have severe adrenal fatigue (as confirmed by genova 24hr saliva test - stage 4 exhaustion currently on NAE x2 at 8am and then I take a corex at 11am) and low in B12 and D3, (both of which I take high dose supplements for). My gp has at last admitted I need ferritin and has prescribed 2 months worth of ferritin fumate at a massive dose 3 times per day, (which end beginning of Feb), and will only retest after Easter !?! She will not admit I am hypothyroid as all thyroid tests are " normal " - and has said in fact if anything my t3 is too high and I am hyper. She doesnt understand at all (usual NHS story), that I have nearly every hypo symptom, but because I have too much t3 in the blood because of poor cellular uptake I also have a few hyper symptoms (palpatations from time to time especially in the evening). Please can someone in the know assure me that I am not talking nonsense by thinking I am extremely hypo (diagnosed with fibromyalgia as well) but because I am low in ferritin, adrenals, dhea, d3, the t3 cant get into the cells and is pooling in the blood, causing a few hypo symptoms? I do not take any thyroid yet, (waiting until I get my vit/min/adrenal levels up). Also, I believe I have been hypo since childhood as I have always had symptoms - does long term hypothyroidism cause all your vit/min/adrenal levels to drop and why? Sorry for the long post. I am trying to get a better understanding of my situation. Merry Christmas

Guest guest
Nicola I suspect that like my husband and my daughter you have Hashimotos this causes fluctuations in symptoms for years and its many years after massive symptoms develop that the blood tests shift to suit stupid doctors parameters My husband before he finally got proper diagnosis went to Bio Lab in London and they found that despite an incredibly healthy diet even to the pioint he ate 6 oranges in a day along with wholemeal bread etc he had severe Scurvy and Beri Beri Our daughter has pretty much the same Both have Hashimotos and both of them were diagnosed with levels in the " normal range " but they also have CENTRAL HYPOTHYROID as i am sure does our grandaughter ..........the problem is idiot GPs and Consultants refuse to face the issue that symptoms occur light years before the tests shift and that so called rare diseases run in families and TSH is not God Fibromyalgia =Hypothyroid just as Carpal Tunnel = thyroid Coeliac = High risk of thyroid end of subject Pat > > Also, I believe I have been hypo since childhood as I have always had symptoms - does long term hypothyroidism cause all your vit/min/adrenal levels to drop and why? >
