Guest guest
I'm afraid there is no quick fix for "itchy" problems and I doubt that it is the NDT that causes it. I can think of 3 possible causes for a chronic itch.... Candida albicans, toxiticity or an allergy to a specific food... possibly a reaction to something you are eating every single day. If I were in your shoes, I would do a private salivary Candida test with Genova to see where you stand. I would also stop eating wheat, restrict grains in general (no bread), strictly no refined sugar and no milk products and not a drop of alcohol for about 3 months and see if this makes any difference – it should. Google Dr. Myhill's `stone age diet' and follow that – you can't go wrong with it, whatever the origin of your discomfort. Furthermore I would buy Milk Thistle and start a course to detox the liver. The following was written by a vet and is aimed at dogs, but it works just the same for humans. Milk Thistle is mainly used in human herbal medicine. http://www.canine-epilepsy-guardian-angels.com/milk_thistle.htm If none of the above worked and you did not test positive for Candida albicans either, you would need to go onto an "exclusion diet" to find the culprit. My guess is that the root of the problem is food... most likely sugar. With best wishes,
Guest guest
> > Im itchy most of the time. I was diagnosed 2 years ago and initially put on Levo with disasterous effects and started self managing about 5 months later. Try and see if zirtec - antihistamine - stops the itching. I itched to the point where I scratched myself in my sleep until my skin was raw. Antihistamines stopped the itching, and the day I stopped eltroxin the itching stopped and has not come back. (I am now on T3) You have my sympathy - it's absolutely horrible.
Guest guest
Hey There, I'm experiencing bad itching too but only since i upped my Armour to 2 grains, I stopped crushing it and it seems to have stopped the itching but i'm now feeling Hypo again so i am switching to Erfa to see if that helps as it can be taken easily sublingually. If all brands of NDT have this affect on you then i've heard of people taking an Antihistamine to counteract the itch - hope this helps, > > Im itchy most of the time. I was diagnosed 2 years ago and initially put on Levo with disasterous effects and started self managing about 5 months later. I feel great overall on NDT and blood tests have been posted on here showing OK. I have itched on and off during the whole time since diagnosed. I have tried switching to different brands of NDT and it makes no difference to the itching. >
Guest guest
I had an outbreak of itching a month or two ago - on my torso and back, mainly - and then discovered that a friend of mine often gets similar bouts of itching, and that my Dad often gets it at that time of year. Maybe it's an external allergen, like mould spores? Mine lasted a few weeks and then subsided. The only thing that seemed to relieve it was chickweed - I happened to have some, macerated in olive oil, which I added to my bath (mixed with milk, it emulsifies it into finer oil globules) - or massaged the oil directly onto my skin. You can buy it as an ointment, too - stellaria is the Latin name. I also took anti-histamines till it improved. Citirizine is my favourite as it makes me least sleepy. Good luck with it, I know how maddening it is.
