Guest guest
Dear Member, Thyroid Patient Advocacy (Reg. Charity No. 1138608) www.tpa-uk.org.uk is in the process of creating the first world register to T4-only therapy. This short, but extremely important survey is applicable only to those who continued to suffer symptoms on T4-only therapy, and who found those symptoms were mitigated or disappeared once they were started on a T3 hormone containing product. This Register will be used to draw to the attention of those responsible authorities throughout the world, the dire need for an urgent re-examination of the existing protocol for the diagnosis and management of the symptoms of hypothyroidism and challenge those studies previously undertaken (900 participants) that concluded that T4/T3 combination worked no better than T4-only. Counterexamples prove incontrovertibly that endocrinology's stance is dangerously wrong. Doctor's continuance of practising in line with the T4-only treatment diktat for all sufferers of the symptoms of hypothyroidism is pernicious. The number of patient counterexamples, at the present time, stands at 1616. (A counterexample is a situation which fits the concept or premise of an idea but produces a different result. To be responsible, a scientist who finds a counterexample to his idea, must limit or abandon his idea as unworkable or not reliable. The T4-therapy does not work for all. If you fit this category, please will help us by completing the 3 questions with either 'YES', 'NO' or N/A here http://www.tpa-uk.org.uk/register_of_counterexamples.php . All responses will be collated online, and your email address (if you provide one at Q4 will be used ONLY to contact you at a later date should this become necessary. Many thanks for your support, and we would like to take this opportunity to wish all our members a Very Happy Christmas and a Very Healthy New Year. Sheila and Lilian List Owners www.tpa-uk.org.uk PS. If you have previously completed this survey (as this has been running for some months), you will likely receive an error message, or a message thanking you for completing it - please ignore. Apologies also if you receive this message twice.

Guest guest
Not for quite some time yet, I want to keep this running until I get over 2000 so there will be time for you to find out whether the T3 is working for you. You should be increasing your T3 dose by 10mcgs every 10 days to 2 weeks. You are on a very low dose at the moment, especially as you have been taking it for 10 weeks. You need to increase this way up to about 50mcgs daily, this is the average that people seem to need. If at any time, you start to get palpitations, dizziness, sweating, feeling spaced out, 'dire rear' or symptoms of hyperthyroidism, then you don't take any more T3 that day, and the following day, you go back on to the dose you were on before the latest increase. This is the only way to find out the dose of T3 that your body needs. However, you do need to ensure that your levels of iron, transferrin saturation%, ferritin, vitamin B12, vitamin D3, magnesium, folate, copper and zinc are where they should be in their reference range. Ask your GP to test these for you because if any are low, no amount of thyroid hormone can be properly utilised at the cellular level until whatever is low has been supplemented.
