FHI Country Director, India (contract position)

New Delhi, India

To manage all activities of FHI's HIV/AIDS Prevention and Care

Department in India, including the development of annual workplans

for approval by donors; the implementation of approved workplans and

subsequent revisions; coordination and communication among

implementing agencies, partners and donors; personnel management; and

the administration of the FHI/India Office. Master's or doctoral

degree in health or the behavioral sciences, and seven years

experience in the management of large international public health

programs. Experience working in India and in HIV/AIDS activities is

desirable.

Family Health International's Implementing AIDS Prevention and Care

(IMPACT) Project builds the capacity of local governments and non-

governmental organizations to design, manage and evaluate HIV/AIDS

prevention and care projects in more than 30 countries.

IMPACT provides management support, technical assistance, training

and information to public and private sector partners in Africa,

Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean region. Areas

of assistance include:

·Program planning, management and evaluation

·Behavior change interventions to reduce transmission of HIV through

sex and injecting drug use

·Management and prevention of sexually transmitted infections

·Community mobilization

·Policy development and advocacy

·Epidemiological and behavioral surveillance

·Private sector HIV policies and programs

·Care and support for people living with HIV and others affected by

the virus, including orphans

·Voluntary counseling and testing

·Ensuring safe blood supplies
