Guest guest
, Since it is touted to remove acid wastes, I would expect it has to leave you more alkaline. And, before I get my mouth washed out with sheep-dip, I might mention both honey & vinegar are rich in phosphorous to help get those acid wastes in solution for removal from the body. jim Venema wrote: > > From: " Venema " <tvav@...> > > Does the apple cider vinegar, honey, and water drink make you more acidic > (due to vinegar) or alkaline (due to apples)? > Thanks > -- jim@... Guest guest
Bragg's is the only brand I'll use, because it is so sweet you almost don't need the honey to sweeten it. But, there is an error or two in their apple cider vinegar book. They state distilled water is best, and that is a mistake, IMO. jim worth wrote: > > From: worth <charlesworth@...> > > Have you ever heard of > Bragg organic vinegar? Guest guest
I found this clip on apple cider vinegar. Read and make your own decisions. I myself use it to rid bacteria. Some use it for rehydration. [Note that the below information will change if the apple cider vinegar was boiled, distilled or filtered. Would you please quote the actual source, which clearly came from a commercial website? Better still, did the source cite any plausible references? Mel Siff] Dan Fichter Rochester NY ----------- Apple cider vinegar vinegar has been used for centuries as a folk remedy for a selection of ills. The ancient Egyptians, as far back as 3000 BC, and even the father of modern medicine, Hippocrates, sang the praises of this unique, yet humble, product. Apple cider vinegar contain the following: acetic acid, propionic acid, lactic acid, enzymes, amino acids, roughage -potash and apple pectin. It also contains minerals and trace elements such as potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorous, chlorine, sodium, sulfur, copper, iron, silicon, fluorine. Its vitamin contents includes Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Vitamin A, Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B6, Provitamin beta-carotene, Vitamin P (bioflavonoids). The saying of " an apple a day keeps the doctor away " comes from the medieval English saying, which really goes " to eat an apple before going to bed will make the doctor beg his bread. Guest guest
Here is what I have heard. Again, no one has given me any proof. Anecdotally, apple cider vinegar is said to reduce inflammation due to stopping the communication of the cells (yes that's what they say) due to its acidity. it's supposed to help bruises and contusions - soft tissue damage - and should be applied as follows. [it is complete nonsense that topical application of any form of vinegar will " stop communication of the cells " and thereby reduce inflammation. Mel Siff] You soak a pad in it, apply to it, wrap it on there, then add ice on top of this if desired. it should be left undisturbed for 4 hours, you then check for allergic reaction and if the skin is rashy, remove. otherwise leave on for 4 more hours. it is said to speed the healing and recovery process. A chemist has suggested to me that it's the acidity perhaps - but I fail to see how this would permeate the skin sufficiently to truly do any good. [Correct - the superficial change in acidity is not going to penetrate anywhere near the deeper tissues that are bruised, inflamed or otherwise traumatised. Mel Siff] However, I have talked to trainers here who have used it. they keep a bottle in their training kit. Again, sometimes we don't know the mechanism, but it still works.... That's my understanding. Again, I'm waiting to see a well documented study on this as well as other miracles so to speak.... [Good idea - let's see some genuine scientific studies cited now! Apple cider vinegar carries its own culture derived from apples, with its own yeasts and bacteria. If not killed off through boiling they could interfere with the yeasts and bacteria of the Kombucha culture. The only thing you want from the vinegar is the acidity to protect your brew against mold. Once you get into brewing and have enough KT, it is best to use this as starter, and if not acidic enough, help the acidity by adding just a little distilled or pasteurised (boiled) vinegar. My advice, let your brew go on to brew now and don't touch it for at least 7 days, then carefully try it. It may need a few extra days to develop the taste that's agreeable to you. If you have used unpasteurised vinegar you may get away with it, but in future always boil (and cool) your vinegar before use with Kombucham unless you use distilled white vinegar. It's " supposed " to do everything form flush your body of impurities by either detoxifying the liver to " increasing intestinal output " to creating some magical negative calorie vortex so you burn fat faster, or some such nonsense. What it *really does* is nothing. Not towards weight loss, at least. You *will* get a tiny amount of the vitamins and minerals that are in the vinegar, and it'll change the pH of your blood and stomach juices if you take to much of it, but it does nothing when it comes to burning fat or losing weight. Guest guest
I buy the Bragg's organic apple cider vinegar from my local Krogers grocery chain store in the Organic section. Guest guest
Sue - The best type has the " Mother " - a network of enzymes that sort of floats at the bottom (unrefined). You should tip the bottle back & forth (not shake it) to mix it. Organic is better; most likely that will mean the health food store. Guest guest
You're welcome, Sue! Haven't " fought the battle " since mid-November. By then my home & my skin symptoms were under control & the internal remedies begun very early on had really kicked in. No bites, crawls nor whispies since mid-October, when I believe the tide turned in my favor & healing began. Stayed home during those months in hopes of protecting others. By mid- December I was reunited with my son & family who live nearby...and my life, though still not " normal " by premitemare standards, was whole again. Although I haven't been in " battle mode " for more than 4 months now (thanks be!), I'm still in " healing mode " ...which is a gentle breeze in comparison to the whirlwind I once endured. My chosen route has relied on supplements, herbals & homeopathic internals, non-toxic environmental controls and the New Hope skin care line of products. I've intentionally stayed away from toxic products for years & wasn't likely to change my stripes in that regard anyway. My goal to detox - strengthen - resolve - heal - on all levels, is an ongoing commitment. Ironically, consider myself healthier than I was this time a year ago, when I was putting in long days of hard labor in the garden. Still mopping up the personal residue of mitemare, but feeling great these days. Life is sweet again. Know you'll find your way through. Rely on that & the caring souls who contribute to our group here & elsewhere. With so many looking for answers, our understanding is growing every day & more answers will be found. Hold to your faith, ask for help & guidance, and shine on... Would you let me know what worked for you ? Could I ask a couple of questions ? In your chosen route what supplements did you use ? what homeopathic internals & how much at what intervals ? What non-toxic environmental controls ? How did you use the New Hope skin care line of products What residue are you still mopping up from the personal residue of mitemare? It would help me so much to know what worked, I need only to go to the park & I am getting bit up again , they must smell me or their friends are on me & they come running. Much of it you may recognize from earlier posts beginning last August, when my active phase of mitemare began & I joined this forum. At least two Sue's belong here. I'm " vaseagull " as you're " Doe " . Sue L. is " slathrop " & to the best of my recollection, was known previously as " fancifulfinches " - please correct me if I've got that wrong, Sue. I use Biokleen Premium Plus Laundry Powder & posted about it last month. (Anyone else having good luck with it?) I didn't start a job last November. I work from home for my husband & my CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing) business. Made it easier on me not dealing with a public situation. Will organize & post detailed answers to your questions, Bill. Thank you! for your many contributions & prayers. I sign off with " Best wishes " , which may also help you keep track of which Sue is posting... This is a very sad thing for me, but then again I have a lot of very sad things happening in my life over these last 6 months. Some day we will all be through this! Sue L. At least two Sue's belong here. I'm "vaseagull" as you're " Doe".Sue L. is "slathrop" & to the best of my recollection, was knownpreviously as "fancifulfinches" - please correct me if I've got thatwrong, Sue.
