Guest guest
I may try something like this next time http://www.vitacost.com/Herbs-For-Kids-Willow-and-Garlic-Ear-Oil Since you are on antibiotics don't forget to take your probiotics. Buist, ND HC Otitis Externa- JP HI folksI am still fighting a sore ear. The iodine/coconut oil mix I tried myself either wasn't strong enough or I didn't use enough of it. A week of Ciprodex (ciprofloxacin/dexamethasone) didn't help much and yesterday I was back with the doc who has now prescribed Lococorten Vioform which, if I am reading the ingredients correctly, has a form of iodine in it!The ingredient is clioquinol. I guess I was on the right track.Question is, if this should happen again (otitis externa, aka "swimmers' ear") how could I apply Lugol's so it is effective? As it is, I suspect the dose of Lugol's I'm taking orally has probably kept the infection localized. I don't want to end up on systemic abx, for sure.Jaye
