Guest guest
Hello Patriza, Here is a list of some of the bromide detox symptoms. Diarrhea is one of them. http://www.breastcancerchoices.org/bromidedetoxsymptomsandstrategies.html If I were you, I would try salt loading and see if that helps. You will find out about salt loading on the above link as well. Kind regards, -Kathleen moderator Increasing Iodine gives me diarrhea - why? Can anyone please help me understand why I get diarrhea every time I try to increase my Iodine intake? It has happened four times now. I am currently taking 25mg Iodoral a day. I was taking 100mg a while back and had diarrhea for months but I didn't know what caused it. I had stopped the Iodine at the time (can't remember why) and it went away. Then when I started again on 50mg it came back. I stopped the Iodine again as I had suspicions that it was the cause of the diarrhea. Then started up again with only 25mg. no diarrhea whatsoever. I have just tried to increase again by only 12.5mg (to a total of 37.5mg a day) and... diarrhea.I have no idea why this could be happening. Could it be that I only need 25mg a day? I am taking all the companion nutrients.Kind regardsPatriza
Guest guest
Thanks Kathleen, I think for some reason i have been denying the possibility of bromide toxicity. I think I would have liked to believe I was healthier than I am. Bromide toxicity definitely sounds like a possiblity for me. Although I have done salt loading a couple of times before without effect. Well no effect that I noticed anyway. I did the 1/2tsp salt in water, then half an hour later again. It didn't make me pee. Maybe I should have repeated it over and over? So then how long should the salt loading be done for - just once? Once a day/week for how many days/weeks? I will do it again as this bromide detox sounds suspiciously familiar to my symptoms. Thanks again Pat > > Hello Patriza, > Here is a list of some of the bromide detox symptoms. Guest guest
Patriza, This is a place where Lugol's liquid might be of service. You could take your Iodoral tablets, then add 1 drop of 2% Lugol's, then gradually move up your supplement amount by tiny increments. I have often found that 12.5mg is too much to raise my amount by, without suffering too much detox symptoms. If you're having that intense of detox symptoms, it's not very likely that you only need 25mg. It sounds to me like you need to work on your detox pathways, which involves liver/gallbladder cleansing, could involve far-infrared saunas, etc. -- moderator On 14 Dec 2011 at 12:48, Kathleen Blake wrote: > > > > Hello Patriza, > Here is a list of some of the bromide detox symptoms. Guest guest
Thanks again Kathleen that info is great. I do take a probiotic also. I did a salt load this afternoon. Didn't pee as much as I thought I would. So far I have had 4 glasses of 16oz water! I will do another one tomorow and the day after too. I had been thinking of doing iodine pulse dosing so will do that too. What is the reason to stop it for two days though? Guest guest
Thanks , the Lugols is a good idea I hadn't thought of. Yes even the small increase of 12.5mg was enough to get the diarrhea going again. Interestingly I don't have any other kind of detox symptoms at all. I also take the TLC supplement (the one recommends) for liver help, and sweat lots during exercise (5 times a week) so maybe my detoxing is just taking it's darn time to get done? Guest guest
Yes I am now inclined to agree with what you and Kathleen have said regarding the problem being my detox pathways. I will focus even more on improving them and increasing the iodine little by little. Thank you both for your help. Regards Patriza > > > > > > > > > Hello Patriza, > > > > Here is a list of some of the bromide detox symptoms.
