Lugol's can be taken in water, apple cider vinegar and water, grapejuice, cranberry juice, pomegranite juice; some say it's better to not take Lugol's in orange juice because of the high vitamin C content of the juice . The temperature of the juice or water should be cold or room temperature, not hot.

Lugol's Iodine and food

Can anyone tell what food and/or beverages you put the iodine dropss into consume it, and does it matter if the food or beverage is hot or cold?

Hi len,

If you take your iodine in the form of Iodoral tablets, then you can take both together as Iodoral is formulated to break down in the small intestine, not the stomach. If you are taking Lugol's solution, it might be best to take them separately; however, many folks take Lugol's and Vitamin C together and don’t worry about it. The body in it's infinite wisdom no doubt knows how to to handle both at the same time. (Hope I haven't confused you!)
