Guest guest
Karla - Awesome response! I found myself feeling serious empathy for you when I read that incredibly sarcastic response - as someone else fairly new to this list, I say that no one should be made to feel dumb for seeking answers. Guest guest
I don't want anyone in my family to have it. I buy Tom's of Maine Fluoride free toothpaste and we do not have it in our water which is very good. I'm getting ready to purchase The Fluoride Deception has anyone read this. The sad thing is that Fluoride is in so many of our foods. Guest guest
Yes, they can find cavities if they take the time to look and use their instruments. Much easier to radiate people though! And to keep this on topic (thanks for the reminder, Sue) ; ) .... what we consider " fine " these days really usually isn't. And the exposure to toxins when we were kids is nothing compared to what today's generation of kids are exposed to. Not only the exploded number of vaccines, but also the toxins in the air, food, water, etc. Drugs and medical procedures are much more commonplace and overused now, than when we were growing up. We accept so many things as being " normal " in our health today when actually our bodies may be giving us subtle hints for decades that something is wrong. As time goes on, if those " hints " are ignored or suppressed, more than likely we will pay the consequences later with more severe symptoms getting our attention. Before I started with homeopathy I accepted things like sleepless/restless nights of sleep as being " normal. " I didn't realize how poorly I was sleeping until I started sleeping sooo much better in the past couple of years after starting treatment. And sleep is a HUGE indicator of our well being. Read a Materia Medica sometime and see how many things resonate as being true in your own life/health. It's quite the eye opener! : ) Kay Re: fluoride > wow, they found the cavity without xrays? how did they do that? > > one more thing i'm gonna have to research...who knew parenting was so > complicated...well i had an idea...but i didn't realize how much > stuff there is out there that just works against raising a healthy > kid. > > it's just amazing, my parents did all these things that we feel > is " wrong " and so far...i'm fine....hmmmm...it's just so crazy. > > kat

Guest guest
I think people are like that w/ vaccines too. they don't know the ingredients. they don't know what they're for. they don't know the diseases. they're afraid of the Childhood diseases. they're afraid it'll interrupt their life. I remember getting the fluoride treatments in school as a child.. less than 6th grade.. it's been around for so long and touted as a dental thing for good, strong teeth.. soon enough lies become truth.. you believe it as true and if it was or wasn't is long lost. Guest guest
Brita and pur do not remove fluoride. We have Brita also. There are filters that do but they’re costly and I haven’t had the money yet to buy one. Do a search for fluoride filters. I don’t like RO b/c it wastes water and since there is a draught.. I’m not willing to have any water wasted Pur has a disgusting blurb on their package: leaves beneficial fluoride in the water…. Ha! That answered that question didn’t it?! So I put them back. The next best thing is to assemble some research and send it to your water company in the hopes of getting fluoride OUT of the water system but the belief is so pervasive about its benefits.. it’s much like vaccines. The average joe only knows what has been taught since forever ago and that is: vaccines protect your health and fluoride protects your teeth. The only thing I have found to be true about the last statement is directly applied fluoride, right to the teeth.. but in drinking water? Useless. But I’m skeptical and I won’t even do applied right to the teeth.. I don’t trust the stuff. Guest guest
Thanks. I wonder if the water they sell by the gallon at Whole Foods is flouride free. Even if it is, it would be stored in plastic containers, so really you would only be trading one evil for another. My husband and I switched to all natural flouride free toothpaste many months back and I like it a lot better, even got rid of my husband's tooth sensitivity. My sister also recently switched, but cannot get her husband to even try it. Guest guest
what about the fact that in countries that do not have flouride in the water, the people have horrible problems with their teeth...rotten, yellow teeth. that is the arguement that is thrown at me when i try to persuade my husband to not use flouride products or water. i am just starting to research flouride, so i am at a loss with trying to convince him. Guest guest
I would look at their diet, not their water and certainly not their fluoride levels! Besides, you can’t change your dh. You can only change YOU….so if you are concerned, you can buy fluoride free toothpaste and use it and he can have his own. You can get a filter for it and drink that. You’re still going to ingest it though b/c many commercial products that are made with water will probably have fluoride in the food Nita, yes my hands are full, but not my heart: 14, Jon 13, 10, 8, 6, Christian (RIP: 7/16/03 to 8/22/04), 2, and due 2/08 Some minds are like concrete: Thoroughly mixed up and permanently set. _,_._,___ No virus found in this incoming message. Guest guest
Hi -- I have never used fluoride (although in my very early years we had fluoridated water - which I wouldn't drink). I've only had 3 or 4 cavities in my life (I'm 48). As a child, teen and adult I never told my parents I didn't use toothpaste, but I didn't. I couldn't stand how it made my mouth feel. Eventually I started using Tom's of Maine without fluoride, and then Shaklee's Organic Dentifrice, again no fluoride. When I switched dentists, the new guy tried giving me a fluoride treatment, I couldn't do it, I had to spit it into the sink. So I'm not convinced that fluoride is the miracle we've been led to believe -- if that were true, I should have a mouth full of cavities. I also don't do yearly x-rays - usually I do every 2 - 2 1/2 years. IMHO I think cavities are caused by poor maternal diet, poor personal diet and poor oral hygiene. Guest guest
The only way to do that is to get a whole house filter....my chiropractor rents one for less than $100/mo. I don't have any more info than that. Laurie does anyone know where to get a bath tub filter to remove fluoride?
