Guest guest
Iosol is not what we recommend for supplementing. We recommend Lugol's formula - either liquid or pill form such as Iodoral. Iosol only has Iodine at 1830 mcg (micrograms) or 1.83 mgs per drop. Lugol's 5% solution is 6.25 mg (milligrams). You only do the salt loading protocol if you have an issue with detoxing. A swollen gland is not detoxing. It is more than likely the thyroid swelling to capture the iodine that has entered the blood stream. But at that small amount I am a bit skeptical. Many anticipate a reaction due to hype over the "dangers" and sometimes I wonder how much is just over analyzing or anticipating something that isn't really there due to fear of a problem. I am not saying this is your situation just that it is common to see a little over reaction to changes in the body during the healing process. Selenium is important so you may want o consider increasing to 400 mcgs - especially with hashi's. Just get the 1/2 tsp of salt in any way you can. Buist, ND HC Hello all and thank you for the acceptance.. Hello,I am sure to be messing up somewhere as I haven't read any doc's yet so excuse me, please..I have hasi's and I am currently taking all the supplement's that is on 's blog, Vitamin C - 2,000 - 4,000 mgsSelenium 200 mcg Magnesium 200 - 400 mgsCeltic Sea Salt - 1/2 - 1 tsp I started taking iosol last night and then today I used two drop's and I am so swollen. I preformed the salt loading protocol however it state's to keep drinking until you urinate. The problem being I did urinate after drinking the 1/2 cup Himalayan salt and before drinking the water. I continued with it and I am urinating however I am still very swollen and i am worried about my BP..Should I keep drinking the salt or just drink plain water now? thank you so much in advance and I can't wait to meet all of you..:)p.s I am going to read over everything now so any Faux pas I have made will be fixed... Guest guest
Thank you so much for your reply I think I miswrote, my thyroid is not swollen. I am swollen as if I am retaining water, my finger's and feet ect.. I was lead to believe that iosol had two also " During the production of Iosol, iodine is extracted from kelp and made into pure iodine crystals. This is not potassium iodide, rather it is an unbound form of iodine. The second form of iodine used is ammonium iodide, a form that readily dissolves in water. These two forms of iodine are combined in a proprietary manner in a base of vegetable glycerin. " I will check on my selenium at the moment I can't remember how much exactly I do take. I just wanted my post to list my supplement's so people would know I am taking them. I actually take way more than the recommended dose of vit c and mag. in the meantime I guess I will order the lugols or see if my healthfood store will carry it for me. Thank you. > > Iosol is not what we recommend for supplementing. We recommend Lugol's formula - either liquid or pill form such as Iodoral.
