Wondering if you are gluten free? The acne on your behind may be dermatitis

herpetiformis.

No. The acne is bromide-reaction acne, it's caused by the iodine kicking the

bromides off the cell receptors, then the free-circulating bromides cause the

acne.

Generally if people get acne as a detox symptom, it is because their detox

pathways are not working well, and that the person is detoxing bromides faster

than their body can get rid of them. The acne is caused by the bromides coming

out through the skin. Usually the advice is to reduce the amount of iodine low

enough that the acne starts clearing up, and to work on the detox pathways.

Working on the detox pathways can include liver/gallbladder cleansing, infrared

saunas, and various other cleansing protocols.

So the answer about getting rid of the acne is to lower the dose and work on

detox

pathways.

If you are taking 200mg because of a cancer diagnosis, you may want to just live

with the acne so that you can stay up at that high level. If you are taking the

iodine

for a less time-critical health crisis or illness, the recommendation is to

follow the

advice above and clear out your detox pathways so that you don't get the acne.

Any suggestions as to why even a small dose of iodine causes my wife to get rapid heartbeat. She has fibric breast cysts. I wonder if she can use iodine topically?

Is your wife taking the companion nutrients? Very important to do so when taking iodine.

My guess would be that it is adrenal related. When this happened to me I would take a product called BalanCe (www.vrp.com) which contained Vit C, Mg, K, Ca and I would also take an adrenal support product called Biotics Research Cytozyme AD.

Hello RO,

Please read The Guide to Supplementing with Iodine. You will find this by going to Files, then click on New Members Read First, then you will find the Guide ( the fifth one down). This will explain all you need to know about the Iodine Protocol, including the companion nutrients that are necessary to take while supplementing with iodine.

You might want to add some adrenal support as well. Ashwaganda herb and or rhodiola herb can be helpful, as well as other adrenal support products. The unrefined Celtic Sea Salt ( one of the companion nutrients you will read about) is also very important for the adrenals as well for supplementing when taking iodine.

Best,

Kathleen

Have you tried doing detox baths?

1 Cup Epsom Salts (or Dead Sea Salt)

1 Cup Hydrogen Peroxide

Very warm water

Soak for 20 mins.

This has helped others in the past to eliminate acne in other places.

I wrote in answer to your question, and Steph's suggestion for the detox bath is

one

of the ways one can work on opening one's detox pathways, as I have stated you

must do. If you didn't see my post, use the link at the bottom of this email to

" Visit

Your Group on the Web " , then click on " Messages " in the lefthand column, then

search on either this subject line or my email address: vbaker@...

Also could you please sign your posts with a name so that others (and I) can

have

a way to remember you? Also, please do not truncate posts. I was unable to

return to your question within this email, and I cannot go searching looking for

old

emails. This list specifically is run by NOT truncating, so that the

owner/moderators/knowledgeable members do not have to waste their time looking

for the original question and subsequent feedback. We have more than 5,700

members and have a lot of people who need help.

One more thing: While it would be nice if people started a new thread when they

change the subject, that just doesn't always happen. We have a lot of people

who

are very new to the Internet, in addition to the fact that conversations ramble

and

that's just a fact of life. But you have received replies to your question from

at least

two moderators and the listowner. It's not that complicated, the acne. It's

very

clear what is causing it and what the solution is.

I would try putting castor oil on the breakouts, at night. That really helps

mine, no matter where they are. I am on about 120 mg now, and don't have any

acne issues, but that is a common problem for me when I up my dose. Mostly on

my face, and in my ears, so far..
