Guest guest
Hello Anne, I am so sorry to hear that you are having problems and hope we can find the cause and get you put back on the road to good health again. This does sound adrenal related, and if it is possible, I would beg, borrow or steal to get the 124 hour salivary adrenal profile done through Genova Diagnostics to see what level of cortisol you are secreting at 8.00a.m. - 12 noon, 4.00p.m. and again at midnight. Go to our FILES section here thyroid treatment/files/ and on the page that opens, scroll down to 'Discounts on Tests and Supplements FOLDER and open that, and then click on 'Genova Diagnostics' where you can order this test from there. You need to tell them that Thyroid Patient Advocacy is your Medical practitioner to claim the discount they give to our members. Once they send you the results, post them on the forum and we will help with their interpretation. Most certainly, the symptoms you are having shout low adrenal reserve - but we need to be sure. Apart from the symptoms you have mentioned, are you suffering any of the following as well - severe fatigue, weakness, loss of weight, increased pigmentation of the skin, faintness and low blood pressure, nausea, vomiting, salt cravings and painful muscles and joints. It might help you meanwhile to start taking some unrefined salt, especially if you have salt cravings. When the adrenal glands are fatigued, they fail to produce adequate amounts of several hormones, including adrenaline, cortisol and aldosterone. Lack of aldosterone can disrupt the sodium balance at a cellular level. This can actually increase your needs for natural sodium and helps explain the salt cravings many people with adrenal fatigue experience. First and foremost, choose a high-quality brand of unrefined salt. (I use Pink Himalayan). White Table salt can't offer a fraction of the benefits of unrefined salt, which contains sodium in a more usable state in addition to vital trace minerals that will facilitate adrenal healing. Read more about the differences between conventional salt and genuine sea salt here: http://www.naturalnews.com/026938_s... Once you have a good quality salt, you should always salt your food to taste. Someone with adrenal fatigue will naturally enjoy more salt on his/her food; whereas, someone with healthy adrenals will generally prefer less. Many people with adrenal fatigue also benefit from taking an additional 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon of salt with a glass of water in the morning and evening, and throughout the day as needed. The salt can be mixed with the water or taken straight on the tongue and then chased with a glass of water. It's important to allow your body to dictate how much natural salt you use in your diet. Most people with adrenal fatigue tend to like the taste of added salt to their food, and won't mind the taste of the salt-water mixture or even putting sea salt straight on their tongues. If you are working on healing your adrenals, as time passes you may notice that the salty taste is less appealing. Excess salt may even make you nauseous. This is typically a signal that your sodium needs are decreasing and that you should cut back on your intake. For most people with adrenal health, sea salt therapy is highly beneficial and has few side effects. However, there are a few exceptions: those with heart disease, hypertension or kidney disease should consult with a professional first as salt may be contraindicated. I've been back on it for 2 months never missing a dose. My problem is that around July I woke with a feeling of anxiety in the top of my chest. This has continued every 2 weeks in line with my hormonal pattern that would have been (went through the change 7 years ago), the symptoms of which remain the same. I've been up since 5.30 when I had it again and it leaves me very shaky - it's like I'm going to have or am having a panic attack. They really are very intense. I'm dreading the next one in 2 weeks time as that is usually the worst one as I would have begun menstruating. They last perhaps 3 hours or so. I am now starting to live in fear of these episodes but do try to remain as calm as I can while it's happening. When it began I thought I might be going hyper so dropped my nature throid from 1 grain to half which is what I was on when doing ok with the LDN. I'm now still on half a grain and 1 mg LDN, raising it back up slowly as before. Generally I'm having more bad days than good and am now getting genuine anxiety on top of the more physical one. ,___

I will definitely send for a salivary adrenal kit today - should I send for some NAE or wait for test results? I stopped taking that too - I could really kick myself for getting so slapdash. I have had the ones in bold but have fatigue/weakness with the MS. I tend to have high BP so am careful with salt but do always have either Himalayan or kosha. Thanks again Anne On 30 November 2011 09:19, Sheila <sheila@...> wrote: Hello Anne, I am so sorry to hear that you are having problems and hope we can find the cause and get you put back on the road to good health again. Guest guest
The owner of the iodine group, Buist, is a thyroid cancer survivor, more info here:http://steppingstonesliving.com/about/http://www.naturalthyroidchoices.com/ The iodine protocol would greatly help you. Please reread the guide sent to you when you joined for specifics on what is needed, as it is already listed there. People who have done RAI have suffered greatly for it, so keep on resisting it! Donna in IL, moderator I should have been on this group a long time ago. Im sure I will get fussed at but my situation has been a hard one! I was a breastfeeding mom when I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. I had a TT in Jan 2011. I refused the RAI because I was breastfeeding and I had nobody to care for my little one while I was in isolation. BUT the main reason is because it terrified me!! I cant afford to see a ND, I have medicaid at the moment cause I havent been able to find a job. I was sent to a nuclear medicine dr and when he found out I didnt want the RAI he kicked me out of his practice with 2 pills left to my name I have been keeping them re-filled by going to walk-ins that my insurance covers. HERE is the part that scares me...nobody ever checks my bloodwork so I dont know what it is...My town only has a few endos and they dont accept my medicaid. I try to eat healthy but I know I am not doing enough to beat this. I would like to do this naturally but I am gonna have to do it on my own because I cant seem to get into a drs office. I had a perfect TG count last blood work BUT the catch there is I had high antibodies so that can mess with the results. I need to know where to start and what to take till I can find a Dr to take care of me. I am scared...but I really really dont want to do the RAI. I have read about taking some of the supplements on here..but I dont know where to get them or how much to take...the only thing I take right now is vit d. thanks for any and all advice!
