Guest guest
If you are hypo, you may be suffering from low stomach acid. I had to take 6 digestive enzymes per meal for 2 weeks until my body began to make enough acid. You can also try taking 1 Tbs Apple Cider Vinegar (such as Braggs) before dinner (1/2 hr) and see if that helps. Buist, ND HC Can iodine worse acid reflux? I went to ER I couldn't breath. I'm in terrible pain since september (my esophagus, difficulty to swallow food and saliva) it stopped for several weeks and it came back. I tried betaine HCL and I think that was worse. I also take more iodine 12,5 mg instead of 6,25 mg.I saw a doctor who diagnosed me with LP Reflux. He gave me anti acid but I didn't take it.Today I re-started DGL (12 /day (from enzymatic the sugar free form). I have less burping but the reflux is still there.I tried aloe vera too but there is citrus acid in it so I can't take it.I'm wondering if my acid is stronger because of iodine? Should I lower my dose? (I take the solid form , Iodoral).thank you for your advice,Celine
Guest guest
Hi Celine, what about apple cider vinegar. One or two teaspoons in a glass of water.worked for me and i got the information from a group where many hadfound the same beneficial result.the other point is less acid forming food and more alkaline forming foods. Guest guest
Iodoral will not change your stomach environment as it is coated and doesn't dissolve until deep in the gut. Doctors treat acid reflux with antacids (acid inhibitors), but the problem is actually low acid. Digestive enzymes are a requirement. I buy mine from Whole Foods, their house brand in a yellow label, very inexpensive and works well-- I double or triple the recommended dose but it's still a lot cheaper than some other products. I don't have acid reflux but occasionally need assistance as stress and daily life can affect digestion. -- On 30 Nov 2011 at 18:30, ladybugsandbees wrote: > > > > If you are hypo, you may be suffering from low stomach acid. Guest guest
I cannot attest to if iodine makes acid reflux worse or better, but I can confirm that most acid reflux is due to low stomach acid. Most meds for this condition turn off acid pumps, which makes your stomach try to produce more to make up for it, and you get into a nasty cycle of permanently requiring meds for the condition. I had acid reflux so bad that I could not sit down and could barely stand and breathe during an attack. I had heard about orange peel extract and decided to give it a try. After one pack of pills, I was markedly better and went off the prescription meds. After the second pack, I was completely symptom free. Below is a link to the specific supplements I took: http://www.iherb.com/Enzymatic-Therapy-Heartburn-Free-with-ROH10-D-Limonene-10-S\ oftgel-Capsules/2181?at=0 -- Bloomington, IN > > > > > > > > > If you are hypo, you may be suffering from low stomach acid. Guest guest
Hi , I ordered the same product from Lifextension; I hope the result will be good as yours. I know that acid reflux is due also from low stomach acid, that's why I took betaiane HCL to have more acid; but after several days it was worse for me; I have pain in my chest when I wake up, when I stand up and I wonder if I have hiatal hernia. Is it wise to have more acid when somebody have hiatal hernia? My doctor told me that I have reflux LPR (Laryngopharyngeal Reflux). He gave me anti acid but he didn't tell me about diet. I just read that I shouldn' t eat apples, drink green tea etc. Celine > > > > > > > > > > > > > > If you are hypo, you may be suffering from low stomach acid.
