Guest guest
I have frequently read about what to take for detox symptoms but can't seem to find any information about what the symptoms actually are. I did the iodine loading test on Tuesday. I am not taking any supplements at the moment because I want to finish with all my testing first. I have many symptoms of hypothyroid and adrenal fatigue. Saliva test showed high cortisol. Thyroid labs are in range, but not optimal. I don't have a doctor and am having to self-treat. Once I gets all my labs back, I plan to start all the companion nutrients in recommended amounts. And then I'll add Iodoral two weeks later. I was just wondering what kinds of symptoms I would attribute to detox? After I took the Iodoral for the test my heart palpitations were significant. That night I was extremely thirsty and couldn't quench it. Plus, I had a lot of GI gurgling, gas, and cramps. I was extremely thirsty last night too. The thirst seems to be worse at night even though I drink water all day long. My naturopath gave me liquid iodine supplement in May. It's very weak. Just 75mcg per drop. She said to add two drops to my water. I found I always felt like I had a lump in my throat when I did that so I stopped. Doc did feel my thyroid and said it's fine. I have a family history of hypothyroid (both parents and one grandfather) and my dad may have Hashimoto's. in NS, Canada
Guest guest
Hello , Here is a link that will explain the bromide detox symptoms that some folks experience: http://www.breastcancerchoices.org/bromidedetoxsymptomsandstrategies.html Best, -Kathleen moderator What are detox symptoms? Guest guest
Here is a list of detox sypmtoms taken from breastcancerchoices.org under the section on Iodine Protocol: supplementation (still called " iodism " ) and raise questions. __________________________________________________________________ Might the historical observation of iodism be due principally to massive amounts of stored bromine leaving the tissues and entering the bloodstream? Is it possible the apparent adverse effects of iodine are due almost exclusively due to bromide excretion, and not enough iodine-alone effects can be documented to qualify as an " ism " ? Might the iodism phenomenon be more appropriately called " bromism " ? __________________________________________________________________ Many of the Breast Cancer Choices' Iodine Investigation Project registrants also found the following suggestions helpful if bromide detox symptoms were not tolerable. Consult your doctor before implementing the strategies below: Bromide Detox Strategies 1. Salt Loading. 2. Stopping iodine for 48 hours to rest the kidneys. 3. Reducing the iodine dose temporarily, then working back up. 4. Taking several grams vitamin C spread out throughout the day along with the Iodine Companion Nutrients. 5. Drinking more water. 6. Pulse-dosing (stopping and restarting iodine therapy.) 7. According to Iodine users with skin symptoms, adding 25 mg zinc often helps. Iodine-related bromide symptoms may include but are not limited to: acne (Some iodine users found zinc helps bromide acne.) eye lid twitching foot twitching tingling in hands or feet dark thoughts (e.g., there is no reason to live) depression (e.g., there is no reason to get out of bed) anxiety emotionality mouth and tongue sores and cuts or " sore mouth " skin " cuts " hair loss brain fog leg and hip ache (feels like arthritis) rash (bromaderma) metallic taste sinus ache cherry angiomas runny nose headache sedation lethargy odd swallowing sensation (reported in old medical literature as " swollen glottis " ) body odor (bromos is Greek for stench) unusual urine odor dry mouth ureteral spasm, frequent urination (mistaken for urinary infection) diarrhea constipation vision changes irritability increased salivation dream changes hormone changes kidney pain breast tenderness (transient symptom reported to resolve) > > I have frequently read about what to take for detox symptoms but can't seem > to find any information about what the symptoms actually are.
