Guest guest
Here are my latest blood test results: Free T4 20.3 (12-22) Free T3 4.0 (3.1-6.8) TSH 3.43 (0.270 - 4.2) My doctor reduced my levothyroxine from 100 mcg per day to 75mcg per day on 11 Nov after I suddenly became hyper (diagnosed by blood test and symptoms). I'm generally feeling much better. Does anyone have any observations on these results?
Guest guest
Ooops! A classic case of being given too high a dose thyroid hormone (T4) that obviously wasn't converting to the active thyroid hormone T3. If it was converting, your fT4 would be lower and your fT3 would be higher and your TSH would be around 1.0. Your fT3 should be in the upper third of the reference range. It is too low. Although you are feeling generally better, keep an eye out for the possibility of hypothyroid symptoms returning as the thyroxine continues not to be converted to T3. T3 is needed by every cell in our body and brain to make them function. Are you taking 200mcgs Selenium daily. Are you taking 1/2000mgs vitamin C. Are you taking any zinc or vitamin B-complex. Ask your GP to test your levels of iron, transferrin saturation%, ferritin, vitamin B12, vitamin D3, magnesium, folate, copper and zinc and once you get these results, post them on the forum with the reference range so we can help with their interpretation. Hope you continue to improve, but hope the SGH drops and the fT3 rises.
