It is recommended that any supplement be taken for at least 3 mos to see the benefits of healing within the body. Serum iodine measurements are not accurate. You would need to do a 24 hour loading test with bromide levels to determine body saturation levels - www.hakalalabs.com

I plan to take Iodoral for the rest of my life. I take 50-100 mgs / day. It is used for more then your thyroid gland.

How long should I stick with Iodoral?

I'm mild hypothyroid. My annual physical results were as follows:TSH slightly elevated at 3.14 (ref 0.34-3.00)FT4 normal at 1.01 (ref 0.5-1.5)FT3 normal at 3.3 (ref 2.1-4.1)Serum iodine level normal at 62 ng/ml (ref 40-92)I started Iodoral a month ago and slowly ramped up to 50mg/day (4 x 12.5mg tabs) to see if it makes my hypothyroid symptoms (fatigue, cold hands and feet) go away. However, I'm still feeling those symptoms. My bottle is about to run out. Should I continue or call it a day because I can't feel much difference? FYI, I'm taking the companion supplements as well, such as sea salt, Vitamin C (3500mg/day) and a potent multivitamin. Thanks!

I am going to take iodine for the rest of my life . Unfortunately our environment these days is so toxic and we are constantly being bombarded with toxic halides ( bromides, chlorides, fluorides) as well as other toxins, fungi, mold, yeasts, etc.. Iodine is needed by every part of our body and helps in the body's process of apoptosis (programmed cell death of cancer cells), so for those reasons alone, it will be my life's companion, along with the important companion nutrients.

Kind regards,

I haven't taken the iodine loading test before I started Iodoral. Should I take

a break from Iodoral before taking the loading test to find out my baseline

reading?

Thanks!

You should stop 48 hours before taking the loading test.
