Guest guest
Hi, Phew, trying to cover everything in the title. First of all, I have just ahd my bloods back for anti-tpo which was 45 (ref range 0-60)was told that although they were higher than last count - same ref range but 22 - and that there was not a problem!? I have yet to have my Epstein Barr bloods back for Glandular Fever but my mid right side of neck is still sore and I continue to have a croaky voice and feel cold and tired. Thsi morning my face was puffy, which my partner noticed it has mostly gone down now. During the telephone consultation for blood report I asked about my throat and she said it could be laryngitis!? Who knows! But I am now into week 3 off sick and signed off another week. I have decided to go and see Dr Skinner in the early part of next year when I have got the money together so I can get sorted once and for all. Also - read article from the 1940s and found it very interesting. Significantly the high cholesterol bit - I think that they used that as a marker years ago for hypot - I know my when first tested was 8.4 and is now despite healthy diet etc 7.2 and I refuse to take statins! The puffy face bit - reminded me to upload some photos from last yr to show how my face went and to see if others have had similar. I too have had that rash down my neck onto my chest - it is good to know others have had similar experiences - the problem with this health issue is the lack of concern form the health pros that makes you feel like you are imagining half of it. The hearing stuff - well I lie in bed at night and it feels like I have my head in a bucket of water and I get this droning low frequency noise that only seems to go if I shake my head - which is not really a good idea. It can last a while into the morning but with the ambient noise of life going about me it is not apparent. Sometimes there is a high pitch whistle that lasts about 20 seconds then goes. Anyhow - please feel free to have a look at photo album in files, I'll try and upload another one of me looking relatively normal. Thanks Stacey

(DITTO!!!!)I am constantly up and down the doctors complaining of a sore burning throat with swollen glands (have this at the moment), now i dont bother going up there as he just tells me its a virus! I had a blood test for Glandular fever last year which came back normal, but then i`d already had a really bad bout of Glandular fever when i was 13, (im, now 40) and was hospitalised for 2 weeks, and nearly died, as my my neck and tonsils swelled so much i couldnt breath, and my spleen nearly ruptured. To take the swelling down they pumped me full of steriods. This morning my face was puffy, which my partner noticed it has mostly gone down now. My face is getting worse, and people are starting to notice, its all round my eyes, and my neck (Under the chin) swells I too have had that rash down my neck onto my chest - it is good to know others have had similar experiences. Is that a sign of Hypo then? For 2 years now i have a constant red "Sunburntish" look below my neck , with broken veins, its always there, and is embarressing. It can look purple!!> > The hearing stuff - well I lie in bed at night and it feels like I have my head in a bucket of water and I get this droning low frequency noise that only seems to go if I shake my head - which is not really a good idea. Guest guest
Hi Caz, Not sure if the neck rash is hypo - anyone else experience this? Mine comes and goes. I don't think that I have Glandular Fever - significantly, I was under stress at work and then started feeling run down and then glands came up and coldness and tiredness etc - and when my bloods were done - my TSH had gone up from 0.38 to 2.8 which is odd as I am taking thyroxine - only 50 mcg - they will not let me have any more as the prat at the hosp said I did not have a thyroid problem!? I have also been self treating tentatively on T3 - 20 mcgs a day. So not sure but once I can see Dr S all - I hope - will be well! I hope you get sorted - but the puffy face and eye thing does nothing for our self confidence does it. I have tried massaging my face and ice packs to no avail. Take care, Stacey x
