Guest guest
Hi all, i went to see my Endo this week, a different one again and i am fuming as he patronised me telling me i should not be taking NDT and that all these websites are a load of misinformed sites and are annoying him. I did not even tell him anything just that i was taking Erfa. He told me my results were still low and i said i feel fine just probably needed to up my dose slightly but he took no notice! I am fed up with them all and can see why you all are coming onto this " best site " in the world for information because you are the only ones who listen and care about all of us. I told him how my sister is on Levo and how her doctor treats her when she has lots of symptoms and tells her it's all in her head because her bloods are fine. He said he wants to try me on a thyroid block replace to stable my thyroid for 12 months and told him NO. I am currently on 2 60mg tabs a day and have just upped an extra 1/2 tab. My results T4 9.2 TSH 0.77 mU/l. are these a bit low because i have been a bit tired which is why i upped another 1/
Guest guest
Tell this idiot that he is supposed to help you get well not dictate to you. My endo prescribes NDT for me but he still applies the BTA rules. I have explained to him that he should respect my decisions as I am the one who has to live with this illness not him. He once wrote a repeat prescription for a lower dose than I was on, I waited till his diabetes patient left then went into his office and demanded that he write the prescription for the correct amount, he blustered that HE was the one who decided how much meds I could take - so I quoted the NHS guidelines at him - about how any changes in dosage or type of medication should be discussed and agreed with the patient beforehand? I said that we had neither discussed nor agreed and unless he wanted to do that now (in the midst of his diabetes clinic) he would here and now write out the prescription for the level of meds I was on with no changes. He doesn't like me now, but then he doesn't have to, all I need is his respect!! > > Hi all, > > i went to see my Endo this week, a different one again and i am fuming as he patronised me telling me i should not be taking NDT and that all these websites are a load of misinformed sites and are annoying him.
