Hiya,I increased mine with at least four weeks between them - personally although it is really, really tempting to increase it fast I think you do need to take it slowly as I often find that I go through a 'settling in' period before I feel the full benefits and that can take about two weeks - but that's me you might be different.Good Luck with itDawn From: <chrisjtaylor46@...> thyroid treatment Sent: Sunday, 27 November 2011, 20:43 Subject: Re: ? possible side effect of Erfa.

I think going from 1/2 a grain to 1 full grain in 9 days is a bit much too soon.

I was told to go up by 1/4 grain every 10 days. Some people advocate going much slower than that - perhaps increase every few weeks.

I would go slow and increase by small amounts. There is no hurry, though I appreciate that it feels like there is when you have been unwell and feel unwell for a long time.

Have you checked your adrenal function and all the vitamins and minerals that Sheila mentions quite often?

Hi it actually isn't a " bit much " normally in

getting from half a grain to 1 grain. We recommend that people starting natural

thyroid extract start taking half a grain, and then after 7 days (if no adverse

reaction), they increase this again by another half grain and stay on that dose

for about 3 to 4 weeks, before increasing by another half grain again (again, if

there had been no adverse reactions). This is the best way to find the dose of

thyroid hormone your body requires. Check out the 'Natural Thyroid ' Folder and

then the document' How to Use natural Thyroid Extract'. Any adverse reactions

should result in increasing by just quarter of a grain and taking it from

there.

Hi Dawn, you also need to take into account that your levels of

iron, transferrin saturation%, ferritin, vitamin B12, vitamin D3, magnesium,

folate, copper and zinc need to be tested to ensure they are where they should

be in the reference range. Do not ever allow a doctor to tell you that these

results are 'normal' and that you therefore don't have a problem. It matters

WHERE they are in the reference range, so if you have got any such results,

post them here with the reference range and we will help with any

interpretation.
