Guest guest
Hello I think Genova do tests for Folate, B12 and ferritin: http://www.gdx.uk.net/index.php but I'm not sure about the others - normally, GPs would request these, or perhaps a private practitioner could request them from a private hospital. Have you asked Genova to see if they do all of the tests you require? Do you think your GP would do any of the tests for you? Are you seeing any other practitioners? As a last resort there is www.medichecks.com but they are *very* expensive, much more I believe than if performed at a private hospital. Sorry I can't be more help; there may be cheaper labs but i don't know of any you can access without a doctor chris > >                    >  >  > Hi >              Vit B12 D3 Ferritin Magnesium, folate copper & Zinc the one's Sheila tells everyone to get, just can't find where to order. Guest guest
Hi We don't have anywhere on the forum web site or in the files as to laboratories you can get these tested apart from Genova Diagnostics where you can other tests done. You might telephone them and ask them if they test any of these and what their prices are though.  There are some laboratories that do test minerals and vitamins but they can be very expensive. I think posted one once, but that was expensive too. You should, in the first instance, write to your doctor asking for these tests to be done because if these specific vitamins and minerals are low in the range, thyroid hormone cannot be fully utilised at the cellular level until whatever is low has been supplemented. If your GP tries to tell you there is no association between these nutrients and low thyroid, then copy out just a few of the references to the scientific research/clinical studies that have been done to show that there is Low iron/ferritin: Iron deficiency is shown to significantly reduce T4 to T3 conversion, increase reverse T3 levels, and block the thermogenic (metabolism boosting) properties of thyroid hormone (1-4). Thus, iron deficiency, as indicated by an iron saturation below 25 or a ferritin below 70, will result in diminished intracellular T3 levels. Additionally, T4 should not be considered adequate thyroid replacement if iron deficiency is present (1-4)). 1. Dillman E, Gale C, Green W, et al. Guest guest
, It's not low enough for the doctor to treat you unless you're living in Japan, where they treat at 600. You really need B12 towards the top of the range.... 7 or 800... > > > > Sorry Sheila, > Brain fog B12 should have been 414, could you comment on this.
