Calcitonin - what about it?

Hi all.

If your thyroid is underactive, does this have implications for calcitonin? I

have conversely also read that levothyroxine is thought (whether rightly or

wrongly) to have potential negative effects on bone density.

My mother has reduced bone density (in her mid-60s) and I've been told to take

measures to protect mine. I'm wondering what the story is!
