Hi Matt,

As T3 increases metabolism- hopefully to 'normal' levels then alcohol

will be broken down faster than before, so enjoy, but don't overdo it as your

tolerance will be different than before and you don't want to embarass yourself

by getting drunk on an amount that your would have been able to tolerate before!

As to losing weight, yes this will happen , but can be neutralised in effect by

increased appetite, so intake must be carefully monitored to make sure that

desired weight loss happens. I lost 2 stone from the effects of T3, but am still

struggling with dieting the rest off, but now as I cut back weight does go,

until I see another cake!

so why?

Hi !

If the alcohol is broken down faster, doesn't that mean my tolerance will be

better, and therefore I should be able to drink more and feel less 'drunken'

effects? NOT that I plan to, I'm merely asking like this to make a point!!!

You say that weight loss will occur, does this mean that my point about weight

GAIN as a result of taking T3, is unlikely?

How long have you been taking T3, and what dose do you find the best?

T3 increases metabolic activity. This does not always mean you loose weight.

You will increase testosterone and cortisol production as well. These will help

build muscle mass.

So you may well be putting on a bit of muscular weight.

I found i lost a lot of fatty tissue covering the whole body (i never look fat,

but always had this layer all over). In its place i have put on more muscle

mass.

I have lost weight overall though - prob 4kgs.

T3 is used by body builders to rip up i think and also put on muscle, but i am

not fully clued up on exactly why they use it.

T3 has some wonderful benefits - and so does wine. Enjoy Matt.

You are beginning to remember now what it was like to feel well - before you

were made to suffer on levothyroxine alone.

When you talk about the possibility of T3 putting on

weight, are you talking about the three letter word FAT or body muscle? It is very

unlikely that T3 would make you gain fat once you have found the correct dose, but

studies have been done to show that T4 causes weight gain - are you sure that

it is not this element that could be the culprit?

Good luck and long may it last.

Luv - Sheila

Still going well on my T3/T4 combo.

Tell me, something I've noticed since taking T3, is that if I have a few

pints/glasses of wine if we go out to dinner, my head is clear as a bell in the

morning! Pre-T3, it was the old hangover situation. Can this be right, and if

so why?

Another thing, could it be that contrary to my normal understanding that T3

should 'aid' metabolic rate, and thus weight should come off, is there an

reason to assume the opposite, and that actually, on T3, one might put ON

weight?

Hi Mat, this could be better control of the thyroid/adrenal feedback. if the adrenals are not right then this will have an effect on how much you can drink.people with strong adrenals can drink like fish but i have not ever been able to drink much. ummm. angel.
