Sheila

Having been tied up for a few days with problems on my computer and dealing with

my complaints procedures, can you throw me a link to the Birmingham Mail report

on Dr Skinners trial so that I know how to answer and what to put. As I have not

been treated by Dr Skinner but have done well with Dr Peatfield, but I have

suffered under the NHS, and my feelings are that early correct treatment for

Thyroid Patients is important to prevent more serious problems. It is also

important not to have incorrect treatment that has been used by the NHS that in

turn has caused worsened ill health.

I would have thought that Dr Skinner and Dr Myhill had just cause to seek

compensation for lost earnings during their restrictions.

Okay Sheila -as far as I can gather there were 2000 letters of support for Dr

Skinner and a great number of people arrived to support him in Manchester -how

many ? This journalist has left a lot out to make the story sensational .

However was she present or did she get the information second hand ? one bit

seems a bit odd -the hearing was postponed - and when it was Dr Skinners lawyer

found that nobody had been reading the patients files so I don't know how she

can write .......reviewed 662 of Skinner's patients over the past three years

.....surely he did it in the last 3 months because it hadn't been done ?

Unfortunately if you do a google you will find tht loads of other websites have repeated what the birmingham paper said thus spreading the nasty false comments

http://www.google.co.uk/search?sourceid=navclient & aq=hts & oq= & hl=en-GB & ie=UTF-8 & rlz=1T4GGHP_en-GBGB432GB432 & q=%27Reckless%27+Moseley+doctor+has+conditions+lifted+on+his+medical+licence

quite a few of the websites though have the ability for replies/comments to be left.

There were over 2000 testimonials that had been bound into 7

volumes - there were also a few hundred more that had been received since July

2011 that were not bound as The Panel had copies of these in their Bundles of

information. There were approximately 25 members of the general public on most

days attending - this was more than the GMC had ever had in Manchester before,

so it broke their records. The Waiting Rooms were too small so they had to put

us into an empty court so we could be all be accommodated. The first day, we

were all left without water, access to a coffee machine and some of us without

a chair to sit on until I complained - and only then did they move us to a

large court room where we had access to water (still of fizzy) hot drinks

machine etc.

I believe there was an Indian lady who came and sat on the back

row during the afternoon of the last day, she was certainly NOT there in the

morning. However, she had left before the end I was told. I was sat on the

front row so couldn't see what was happening behind me.

The hearing in July was when we found that Professor Bolloux

(acting as the GMC's Expert Witness) had publicly declared his bias against Dr

Skinner saying something along the lines that " We've got him at last "

that he was removed as expert witness and it was decided to find another one,

so that hearing was postponed until November. Also, at the July Hearing, we

then heard that during the previous 3 years when Dr Skinner had been complying

with his conditions sending all the referral letters and his letters to

patients GP's with recommendations, that not one single person from the GMC had

even bothered to open his submissions, never mind read them. The GMC then had

to ensure that their 'new' expert witness would go through all the 662 patients

that Dr Skinner had seen to give his findings. These were 662 new patients

referred during the last 3 years, but the GMC 'expert' had only three months to

check through them all.

He insisted that 32 of these cases had been given a diagnosis

and started on treatment (either with levothyroxine or Armour Thyroid) which he

stated that he himself would not have done, because he said the TSH should have

" been in double figures " before doctors should give a diagnosis or

initiate treatment. However, it was pointed out by Dr Skinner's Barrister that Dr

Skinner had chosen to use the European guidelines that use a TSH reference

interval of 0.3 to 2.5 and it was made absolutely clear that the Government has

stated categorically that doctors can choose to use whatever guidelines they

wish, even if these come from another country, so long as a doctor can give

good cause why s/he choose to use such guidelines. This was accepted by the GMC

Panel as was the fact that doctors can prescribe unlicensed medicines and that

the MHRA had written that doctors can prescribe Armour Thyroid, Erfa Thyroid,

Naturethroid and Westhroid so long as they take full responsibility for this,

as they remain unlicensed.

Hope this makes sense .

Thankyou for explaining Sheila . I am suprised the journalist did not question

any of you to see why so many people were there and to catch up on anything

he/she had missed . Or did he /she ?

No , most definitely not. Not one single member of the

public at the GMC Hearing was approached by a journalist to get our side of the

story - and I take it that whoever wrote that story probably didn't want our

side. There has been far too much bias against Dr Skinner these past 7 years

and this has now got to stop, and I personally will do whatever I can to put an

end to this. I do know that the Media are sponsored by Big Pharma, but would

they go this far??? Actually yes, I think that they would.

Sheila - If you google journalist Alison Diyani you will get a photo . I am

sure if you were there for 4 days somebody will have noticed when she was there

and how much she actually heard to base her story on since the transcript has

not yet been printed . She seems so to speak have " jumped the gun " Getting a

press release in before TPA ????? How much of the events of the four days is

it actually based on ?

Hi Sheila, "Big Pharma" stop at nothing.Drug Rep Says Ethics Made Him a Target By NESTOR F. SEBASTIAN FLEMINGTON, N.J. (CN) - Merck & Co. ousted a vaccine specialist who says he refused to illegally market certain pharmaceutical drugs to doctors, the man claims in Hunterdon County Court. Turkheimer says he was fired several months after his yearly performance-review meeting with district business manager Connelly. At that meeting, Connelly asked Turkheimer to sell Merck's Gardasil HPV drug to a specific doctor, and tell that doctor the drug would lower insurance rates if prescribed.Connelly told Turkheimer to suggest that the doctor could face litigation if he didn't prescribe the drug, and that patients could face death if not prescribed with Gardasil, according to the complaint.Turkheimer, who resides in East Meadow, N.Y., says he expressly told Connelly that such instructions were improper. After this rebuke, Connelly began to undermine Turkheimer and looked for a way to fire him, according to the complaint.Turkheimer says he had been taking Ambien for sleep apnea, and Prednisone for a skin rash he developed, but did not know that combining the two medications could cause sleepwalking. The drugs apparently made him sleepwalk during one morning and drive his vehicle, subsequently crashing into two parked cars near his residence. After the accident and eventual hospitalization, Turkheimer's wife reported the incident to Merck. Connelly then sought medical records concerning the worker's resulting absences and discovered that Turkheimer had been given antipsychotic drugs in the hospital.Connelly accused Turkheimer of illegally driving under the influence of a narcotics or alcohol, and advised human resources personnel that Turkheimer was "loopy" and unstable, according to the complaint. Turkheimer says he met with several managers, including Connelly, shortly therafter, and was then fired.Turkheimer seeks compensatory and punitive damages for wrongful termination and disability discrimination. He is represented by Adam Kleinfeldt with rte O'Dwyer of Newark. --- [Note from SaneVax: This is exactly the kind of pharmaceutical company tactic that will no longer be tolerated by medical consumers. Whether these allegations are true or false is up to the court system. However, the SaneVax Team would like to thank Mr. Turkheimer for having the courage to make the issue public. If more people had his ethics and courage, this type of situation would not happen because everyone would know when it did, people would expose the problem. If Gardasil were as safe, effective and necessary as it is purported to be, Merck would not have to resort to this type of tactics to sell it.....people would be beating down their doors to purchase it.Thank you Mr. Turkheimer - from the SaneVax Team, and medical consumers around the world. Society needs more people like you! BillIn thyroid treatment , "Sheila" <sheila@...> wrote:>> No , most definitely not.
