Guest guest
Hi I've not been active on this forum, but plan to work my way through all the files with helpful info in the new year. It is so great to have found a community dealing with the same issues I've been dealing with for years. Thought I'd mention an article I saw on an Australian health website today. Unfortunately one can't see the whole article, but the link to the endo society's paper does work and it is not good news. The start of the article published at http://www.6minutes.com.au/news/bioidentical-thyroid-treatments-need-scrutiny: " Bioidentical thyroid treatments need scrutiny Patients with hypothyroidism are receiving potentially misleading advice on the use of thyroid extract, say endocrinologists, who are calling for its regulation by the TGA. In a position statement (link below) published on their website last week, the Endocrine Society of Australia recommended desiccated thyroid hormone or thyroid extract, combinations of thyroid hormones, or triiodothyronine should not be used as thyroid replacement therapy. " The link to the position statement: http://www.endocrinesociety.org.au/ESA_Position_Statement_%20Thyroid-Extract.pdf I only function when on T3 only, so hearing them talk such nonsense, and condemning many to unnecessary suffering, makes me angry! Thanks again for the forum. Elsa
