Guest guest
Go to our FILES SECTION here under 'Hypothyroidism' and on the page that opens, scroll down to 'Pure Compounded Thyroxine and Tertroxin'. You can ask your GP to prescribe this which is available from dale's Pharmaceuticals. Some of our members do well on this as it has no fillers, just the thyroxine in gel capsules. Also, I believe that Boots do a liquid form of pure thyroxine too thyroid treatment/files/HYPOTHYROIDISM/ Luv - Sheila I was just going through the archived messages here to see if anyone else was on latose free thyroid meds, and found that another member of this group - - takes an NDT from Thailand, called Thiroyd [sic] and this is supposed to be lactose free. You can read about 's experiences with Thiroyd here: thyroid treatment/message/81712 And buy it here: http://www.1drugstore-online.com/showprice.asp?name=thiroyd & bysearch=ok as you can see, it is cheaper than other NDT brands, and you can get 120 x1 grain tablets for $21 US (if you wanted to try it) so you'd not have to shell out a 100$ US for something that possibly didn't help you. _,___
Guest guest
Cat, you might want to telephone the laboratory and give them your name and address and your previous doctor and tell them roughly when you had your last thyroid function tests done, and tell them your results have been lost and would they please let you have these results, together with the reference range for each of the tests that had been done. A doctor cannot withhold anything that is in your medical records under the Data Protection Act 1998 and this goes for any other medical staff too, such as laboratory technicians. Luv - Sheila I can't give you my results because I was never given them and when I asked was told that they didn't have them (I changed doctors fairly recently and my previous blood results have all dissappeared, not saying my last doctors were hiding anything but.....!) New doctors are just as bad, since I've been with them they have yet to take any new bloods even though I have mentioned it twice! Guest guest
NEVER, NEVER, NEVER accept a doctor telling you that any of your blood tests were " normal " . Fact is, doctors don't know how to read blood test results, or at least, most of them do not, as we have come to learn through experience. They tell you that the results are " normal " if they appear ANYWHERE within the reference range, We need to know whether they are at the bottom, the middle or the top of the range, or even outside of the range. Write a little note to your surgery and ask for all the blood tests you want, and ask that these be given with the reference range for each test done. No hospital or medical staff can withhold any of the information in your medical notes, as these belong to you under The Data Protection Act 1998. If they refuse to let you have them, then quote the DPA to them - they will soon release them. Luv - Sheila NHS adrenal tests, I had the standard (useless) one, then the one where they inject you with that steroid beginning with c that I can't remember with the 3 1/2 hourly blood tests, no idea what the results were I just got told " normal " . My B12 has been checked a few times and again is " normal " ....I really hate that word! I can't get copies of any of my results, they are all lost. _,___
Guest guest
Hi,I'm also Lactose intolerant.I got seen by a specialist at a NHS hospital and he confirmed this in writing to my GP. My GP and Pharmacy have to give me lactose free medicines now. I have been taking lactose free thyroxine and T3 for 2 years now without any issues. They are L-thyroxin Henning made by Sanofi Aventis which is the T4 and Thybon made by Sanofi Aventis which is the T3.Hope this helps all lactose intolerant hypothyroid suffers to get free meds on the NHS.supercoolioFrom: catinthewillow <catinthewillow@...>thyroid treatment Sent: Saturday, 12 November 2011, 21:37Subject: Re: Advice needed on taking/buying NDT Thanks very much for all your help Cat > > Dear catinthewillow (do you have a shorter name we could call you). > > Please check out the attached documents. Guest guest
Just to say that I take Thiroyd from Thailand (as recommended by ) too and am doing well on it - had no problems with postage - it arrives quite quickly and no extra charges! It does seem to be one of the cheapest NDTs and it works. Lets hope that after us all saying no charges we dont get caught with them next time! Colleen Hi, I get Thiroyd from Thailand and can thoroughly recommend it. I received 500 x 1grain a couple of weeks ago costing approx £52 and they didn't get caught in customs. None of my orders from them have ever been caught in customs also because they don't put the value on the package. Delivery time is good too and I'm doing fine on Thiroyd and they dissolve nicely under the tongue meaning I can take them when I like. All the best....> I was just going through the archived messages here to see if anyone else was on latose free thyroid meds, and found that another member of this group - - takes an NDT from Thailand, called Thiroyd [sic] and this is >
