No Jo, I am not using social media for TPA - but if anybody else

is, then please get the word across to everybody. I will post the PR once I

have written it, so you can pick out what is needed from there, but I am

waiting for the Chairman's written Determination before I do anything.

Doctor Set Free To Save?

Are you using social media such as Twitter and Facebook, Sheila? It's where

things really get around these days.

Best,

Jo

We could certainly sit back and do nothing. If we did, do you

believe that the medical associations causing this problem for people like Dr S

would fade away into the background and leave him and other such doctors alone

to get on with the best way they know to diagnose and give their patients a

choice of treatment?

If they feel their backs are being put up - isn't this what they

have been doing to patients and other doctors for years? It is not a case of

being " triumphant " , it's a case of getting the FACTS out to those

doctors who's hands ARE already tied so they can feel free to practice in the

way they know is right and proper.

TPA on the other hand, is here to campaign for a better

diagnostic and treatment protocol, and that is what we will do in whatever way is

necessary.

Surely you don't believe that the past 7 years of hell Dr S has

been put through should be allowed to pass without anybody doing anything?

However, having said that, whether we do anything or we do not,

the GMC could well call him again to account for new charges, but these could

not be for daring to give a diagnosis with TSH and fT4 within normal reference

interval when the patient was suffering numerous signs and symptoms, or for

treating those patients who remained ill on levothyroxine only with Armour

Thyroid.

Luv - Sheila

Could the GMC call him again to account for a new trumpt up charge.

Exonerated on the ones he has recently been there for, but there is nothing

stopping them having another go with another reason.

Would it put their backs up if we are too triumphant, and

would it encourage them to tie him up for another three years.

After all he was just as innocent three years ago as he is now, but it

didn't stop them restricting his practice. It could be that they

dont care whether he is allowed to practice in the end, so long as they tie his

hands in the meantime.

Sheila,

Would this 'fly'?

Woolly headed and permanently tired ?

Your doctor won't treat you, but I know a doctor who will! and so does the GMC ~ they confirm it's safe, practical and legitimate to do so.

Irene - I like that one.

Or if you don`t want it to sound as if we`re all `revolting`, you could say

Thyroid Patients make Progress or Thyroid Patients make Headway.

Or simply :-

Hope for Thyroid Patients

Doctor Exonerated by GMC.

HOPE AT LAST FOR THYROID SUFFERERS.

Thousands of thyroid sufferers may finally be entitled to effective treatment

thanks to one man - Dr Skinner, who has at last been exonerated by the BMC.

I agree it is better not to call attention to one specific doctor. Those who

dare to put their heads above the parapet tend to be targeted. It would be

better to emphasize that the GMC have conceded that there are valid alternatives

to thyroxine, and that blood test results aren't the be all and end all of

diagnosis.

How about

" GMC set to free T4 and T3 "

" Thyroid sufferers buoyed by GMC decision "

Wikipedia definition - The word " buoyed " can also be used figuratively. For

example, a person can buoy ('lift up') someone's spirits by providing help and

empathy

Hi Sheila, his email do not work for me, here is my local paper details- Bristol evening post and western daily press, email:epnews@....address is: the Bristol evening post,Temple way, Bristol BS2 OBU. Letters to the Editoro of all National and Local Newspapers

Dear Member,

Tony has asked me to thank all of you who have so far taken the trouble to find the email addresses of the editors of your local and National Newspapers and those who have also sent the Email address of the 'Letters to the Editor'. However, we still need many more from all over the UK. If you want the doctors in your area to know the outcome of Dr Skinner's Fitness to Practice Determination as announced by the Chairman of the GMC Panel last Thursday afternoon, then this is your chance to show them, and hopefully, put a stop once and for all to their refusal to give you a diagnosis and give you a choice of the thyroid hormone that will give you back your normal health.

However, some of you did not get the full address of Tony's Email, so please cut and paste it from here into an Email to send to Tony [tcpace@...] and if that hasn't worked, then try this, only tcpace[@]gmail.[com] but leave out the brackets and spaces.

Please do what you can to help Tony compile what has the potential to be an enormous list so we can spread the word far and wide. It's really great to see so many of you becoming so involved, so thanks from both Tony and myself.

I am also writing a Press Release for all the papers, and I am looking for a brilliant title for this PR that is both 'brief' and 'attention grabbing' to make everybody look twice, so if you can think of one, please send me this to sheila[@]tpauk.[com] - again, leaving out the brackets and spaces.

Luv - Sheila

Dear Member,

TPA is in the process of compiling a full list of all the Email addresses of National and Local Newspapers so that we can write a 'Letter to The Editor' whenever we have specific details we need to get out to the general public at large. You can find this on the page where the 'Letters to the Editor' appear. Please will you check these and pass to Tony who is compiling such a list for us at [tcpace@...]

Many thanks

Sheila

Hello Ursula - that is great, and I hope that he will call and

get the story from the patients perspective which will hopefully lead to good,

open debate. My telephone number is 01535 636 014. My Mobile is 07511942536.

I will hopefully, be getting a copy of the Panels Determination

through the post this morning and I can then write a Press Release/Report for

all national and local newspapers. I am thoroughly shocked by the Birmingham City

Mail Report which was apparently published last night, giving completely the

wrong impression that Dr Skinner was/is a 'Reckless' doctor. http://www.birminghammail.net/news/2011/11/22/reckless-moseley-doctor-has-conditions-lifted-on-his-medical-licence-97319-29817596/

with no mention of patients and the effect this decision will now have on them.

Totally biased, and no doubt the report was given by a member of a certain

thyroid association not too far from my front door.

I am thinking of using the more positive title heading

VICTORY FOR THYROID PATIENTS - DOCTOR EXONERATED BY GMC

" Tens of thousands of sufferers of the symptoms of

hypothyroidism are finally entitled to diagnosis and effective treatment,

thanks to Dr Gordon Bruce Skinner, who has, after a long 7 year battle, been

exonerated by the General Medical Council (GMC). The GMC have now confirmed

that Dr Skinner’s diagnostic and treatment protocol for those with symptoms of

hypothyroidism is safe, practical and legitimate. The GMC have conceded that

there are valid alternatives to levothyroxine-only therapy, and that blood test

results alone will no longer dictate how doctors should diagnose and treat this

illness…..and taking it from there…

I am still finding it all rather surreal and cannot believe we

got such a wonderful result - both Gordon and Afshan have told me they too

still find it quite unbelievable.

Luv - Sheila

That sounds brilliant to me.   And the quicker we can get it out the better. Lilian
