Guest guest
Hi Steve Please don't despair! I am sorry you're feeling bad. It sounds like helped you a lot before, have you contacted him to see if he can offer any suggestions in your case? > Firstly i would just like to appologise if i have been off with anyone on here over the last couple of weeks im just not feeling myself. *I am geting angry over nothing* and taking it out on other people im just not myself at the minute.... Could that be a low cortisol symptom? >* The story of my life so far is nothing works for me even when it works for other people*, the the latest thing being pauls early morning dosing. I am up and down up and down. When im on adrenal support my blood sugar issue's are 10x worse, but when im not on adrenal support everything else seems worse i dont know whether im coming or going or wtf to do. *Perhaps it's not helped you because it's not addressed your issue?* By blood sugar issues, do you mean craving sugar, or feeling hypoglycmic, or actual raised or low blood sugar as per your glucose meter? When you are on adrenal support, do you feel better apart from the sugar issues? Have you looked into alternative adrenal support like medrol? I have been craving sugar and sweet things a lot lately, and one day I added in more thyroid, and it helped get rid of these cravings – no amount of HC helped, but thyroid did. Doesn't Dr Rind say something like " A low one can look like a high other " ? >But now it seems i have low cortisol or low thyroid or both, my iron feels low since ive probably been a bit hypo, no day is the same, i hate my job but need the money, the metformin didnt work, it seemed like it was working for about a week then it seemed to be doing nothing even when i upped it to max dose. What are you symptoms though, do they match thyroid or adrenals, or both? Are you taking iron? What happened with metformin – how much are / were you taking? At one point didn't you mention potassium, are you still on this? >I have low white blood cells swollen lymth glands Is the doctor still investigatin this? Are all your lymph glands swollen? Have you been tested for viruses like epstein barr? > and systematic candida which has taken over my life maybe the candida is not being killed off so well by your immune system? >. Im pretty sure i have season disorder aswell just to add to things as i feel better in the summer regardless. Do you take Vitamin D? Some people find light boxes help them, and others find that sunrise simulators help them, too. http://www.lumie.com/ >My eyes are becoming worse and worse by the day i have had to book in with the opticians. Worse in what way? >Also im so frikkin skinny im soo cold all the time and i cant eat proper foods to gain weight. what can't you eat, and why? Being skinny may be low cortisol or low insulin? > I dont want to start adrenal support again as i dont want to give myself diabates (my mum has just been diagnosed diabatic, she shows so many thyroid symptoms also but wont listen) What makes you think i'td give you diabetes (isn't that kind of jumping to a worst case scenario?) ? You don't know for sure you even have insulin resistance? I think it is important to take DHEA at the same time as adrenal support to balance out the negative effects of cortisol (i don't think you're keen on this though but for me DHEA has helped a lot). > If i take some hc while not on adrenal support it makes me feel sick, so it seems either or nor. Did you mean to write something else there, since HC is adrenal support? >I've been taking 4x nax and while its helping the illuminous pee cant be healthy. It's probably going to be one of the b vitamins in it isn't it? Riboflavin, perhaps? > The endo who im seeing on the nhs is going to prescribe me a few months worth of anti fungals but if after a few months they are not working then there is no point to keep trying i will have tried every single thing possible to get rid of the candida. I just want to be able to eat normal foods and have a gf ( What anti fungal is he going to prescribe? There are many different candida protocols, and supplements, you can't have tried them all (or for long enough) – not only that, you say you've tried every single one (!) , but how about if you combined them? Did you ever try NDT and did it not help? If it were me I'd go back to basics and see what the symptoms matched, and go from there. Guest guest
Hi Steve: To me, most of your symptoms seem to be iodine deficiency. I have noticed that you mentioned you did not want to take iodine. Generally when someone refuses to take something, it is often the exact thing they need. If I were you, I'd start on the iodine protocol and start with just a drop or two of iodine a day and see if you show improvement. Cheers, JOT
Guest guest
JOT, do you think Iodoral is ok as a source of iodine, or do you prefer the drops? If Iodoral is ok, then *Steve*, here is a link you can buy Iodoral from in the UK - it is probably more expensive here, but I found they delivery quickly: http://www.nutricentre.com/p-41216-iodoral.aspx chris > > > > Generally when someone refuses to take something, it is often the exact thing they need. Guest guest
A friend of mine has been doing Bees diet for candida for well over a year now and her health has improved enormously. A lot of her problems (including thyroid and eyes) have disappeared now. However the diet is extremely strict, and it took a good few months before she could actually stomach it, but she persevered. She now finds it second nature to follow the diet and is quite content to. See http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/Lilian and systematic candida which has taken over my life. Guest guest
We like iodoral specifically because it is made to absorb deep in the colon where it won't be disrupted by any food or stomach acid, etc. It is expensive, so most people now have changed to the drops. The drops to be most effective need to be taken in 1/2 glass of water with a teaspoon of celtic sea salt and a tablespoon of organic apple cider vinegar. Drink this down first thing in the morning when you wake up. And then go brush your teeth (vinegar)..... Take your iodoral pill first thing as well. Iodine should always be taken first thing in the morning rather than throughout the day. If you take iodine later than 9 am it may effect your sleep, keep you awake. Of course this does not apply to everyone, but the majority would agree. Jarvis talks about a woman who spilled a bottle of iodine on her leg just before bed and she said she slept better than she ever slept before..... Unless you have a night's sleep to lose, I wouldn't experiment with it. :0) Cheers, JOT > JOT, do you think Iodoral is ok as a source of iodine, or do you prefer the drops? Guest guest
That is interesting, JOT, thank you for explaining. I don't want to hijack Steve's thread but I found that Iodoral helped me when I took it for a few weeks. For some reason it enabled me to start tolerating thyroid hormone and just made me feel better in myself. I found the tincture of iodine very helpful too - I applied some of that on my arm on an intuition, and within an hour or two I was feeling much better. Iodoral also made my arms break out in a rash. At the time, I thought it was some kind of detox reaction. I read that Iodoral can kill candida - do you have agree with that ? Thanks chris > > We like iodoral specifically because it is made to absorb deep in the colon where it won't be disrupted by any food or stomach acid, etc.
Guest guest
Hi Jot, Have you ever tasted oil of oregano capsules? And they repeat on you for ages. I don't think they can be very popular.... but, something which tastes that bad must be doing some good Personally I think they are even worse than Nutri Adrenal Extra...... x > > > Wild oil of oregano kills Candida......naturally. > > Cheers, > JOT >
Guest guest
Yes, I take them every day of my life. I also take the drops under my tongue. There is a simple protocol to follow when taking oil of oregano and it must be followed. If you take it with a full meal, chances are you won't have any trouble. For something which is so perfectly fabulous for the system, I'd over look the slight repeat. Personally, it does not repeat on me so I don't know your experience. If you're drinking coffee, I'd assume this is part of that problem. Cheers, JOT > > Have you ever tasted oil of oregano capsules? And they repeat on you for ages. Guest guest
Steve, You don't know if it's adrenals or thyroid? What do the temperature charts say? If they are low but even then it's thyroid, if they are low and jumping around all over the place it's adrenals. If you aren't taking your temperature 4 hours after you get up, and then 4 hours later and 4 hours after that, and averageing the daily temperatures, then plotting them on a graph, START NOW!! It's best to measure them with a farenheight mercury thermometer, but personally I can't see what harm it will do with a digital degree C one..... what you are interested in mainly is how much it changes..... either way, it's so much better than not doing it at all. More details on drrind.com My very ex husband was very thin, about 6' tall and never more than 9 stones. Eventually he collapsed long after we split up and his gf rang me to say they thought it was a heart attck (he was about 32)... turns out it was food allergies..... he was allergic mainly to anything caramel coloured.... beer, tea, and the oil they spray on fruit like oranges..... He's in his late 50's now and a bit of a fattie... be careful what you wish for!!! x > The endo who im seeing on the nhs is going to prescribe me a few months worth of anti fungals but if after a few months they are not working then there is no point to keep trying i will have tried every single thing possible to get rid of the candida. Guest guest
Hi Jot, iodine is one of the only things i have never ever tried, and i know very little about.... im willing to give it a try, jus when i know little about something i stay away, but im willing to learn. I have just been reading your later post thanks for all the information. Will it have any interferance with my T3 at all ? Guest guest
I have just read all the replies thank you, i knew the group could give me support. i will reply to yours in a minute, ty for the lengthy response I know my adrenals are not fully up to scratch, but i do not want to go back on adrenal support. One theroy i have is that my thryoid T3 is not being utilized properly maybe due to low iron and low cortisol, so lowish T3 is not quite enough for my adrenals. Jot i have just purcahsed the iodal, and i am going to get some iodine drops in the meantime tomorrow. What is the purpose of idodine, to get your own thyroid working better ? or make the thyroid you are taking work better ? Do you have any website i could read about that is reliable, just so that i dont do a google search and end up at some crap one Thanks
Guest guest
If you have any part of the body which is disturbed, painting iodine on your body parts is one way to get it into that section. Women/men with breast cancer paint their breasts everyday, once it starts to fade, they re-paint. This is how they know it is absorbing and that they need more. People with goiter should paint their goiter several times a day. If you have a cut on your hand, paint it with iodine. It's important to have iodine drops on hand for anything that may come up. Iodine at high doses does cure candida but most people are not on those doses. But some people take anywhere from 100 mgs to 225 mgs a day. These are mostly people who are curing cancer. The basic dose is 12.5 mgs a day but it is 50 mgs which is what most people use for a cancer preventative. Iodine cures cancer, it's that simple and it's that good. Why people are cutting out their body parts instead of taking iodine, I will never understand. I prefer to keep all my body parts and just get them cancer free. People who are always cold, are lacking iodine. If you take your drops first thing in the morning with your celtic sea salt and vinegar, you will immediately feel warm. I just went out in 20 degree weather to walk the dogs for 8 miles and I wasn't the least bit cold. I don't have the heat on in the house because I don't need it. I sleep under a down comforter at night and I don't need any more warmth than that. The dogs get iodoral because it is easier to break a tablet in two and put it in their hard boiled egg. Iodine MUST be taken with celtic sea salt and at the same time. The salt helps to kick the bromide out of the receptors so the iodine can absorb but the iodine is also needed to kick out the bromide, the sea salt alone will not do it. It must be a joint effort. Everyone is full of bromide and when we start having reactions to taking iodine, it is because the iodine is floating around and not being absorbed. This is why the salt loading protocol is in place. If you start having symptoms, you continue to take 1/2 teaspoon of celtic sea salt throughout the day until the symptoms subside. When the iodine cannot get in because of the bromide, it is called bromide toxicity. Iodoral has a coating on it which may have given you a rash or it may have been bromide toxicity. I also believe that the blocked receptors are creating problems with other substances trying to get in. If it is keeping iodine out, what else could it possibly be keeping out? The problem is never iodine, the problem is bromide. Cheers, JOT > Iodoral also made my arms break out in a rash. At the time, I thought it was some kind of detox reaction. > > I read that Iodoral can kill candida - do you have agree with that ?

Guest guest
Hi ty for the reply. Here goes! has helped me enough for now, i still email him time to time about T3 related questions ect ect if i was to tell him all this he would be more like my private endo and i know he does not have the time for that. I think the angry could well be low cortisol, as sometimes i wake up like that. I dont want to go on any adrenal support again unless i have to 100% When i am on adrenal support apart from the constant peeing, and raised blood sugars i feel better yes. As for the metformin i built up to 3000mg, 2250 i think is the max, but i guess me issues were not of insulin resistance. Not on potassium anymore my blood tests result came back at 4.4 with usual range. Yeh my immune system is not fighting off the yeast, and i think the lymth glands most of them are swollen all over my body... behinds ears, under arms, groins ect ect which is probably my body failing to fight the yeast. I take Vit D and have a light box almost set my room on fire tho as is WAY too brigh so i covered half of it with a calendar then within 20 mins it was smoking lol I am becoming more and more unable to see the disatance very clear regarding my eyes. > Regarding the hc i mean when im not on full time adrenal support, just adding 10mg makes me feel not that great, > > > >I've been taking 4x nax and while its helping the illuminous pee cant be healthy. > > It's probably going to be one of the b vitamins in it isn't it? I have maybe not answered everything as i am going out shortly, but i tried to answer everyhing i thought imporant. From tha charts it seems aldesterone and thyroid are the ones causing me the worst problems. Especially interesting the aldesterone one. Since i used to be on quite a high dose of florinef. I think i get really down/upset when i have no healh plan. My plan for the moment then is to start back up on the iron with plenty of vit C, start iodine and investigate aldesterone with my endo on my next appointment, aloing with taking the anti fungals, im not sure which they are yet he did say they are a combined one as when i said non work he said we will give you a combined and for 4-6 months. Guest guest
Quick question, do i need to take idonal with celiac salt or just the iodine drops. Thanks
Guest guest
Hi Steve: You must take the iodoral or lugol's drops with the celtic sea salt at the same time. If you are taking the drops, put the salt, the water and 1 tablespoon of organic vinegar all together. If you take the iodoral, take the celtic sea salt, vinegar and water to wash it down. First thing in the morning. Keep the T3 away from it for just a half hour or so just to be safe. I don't know what the reaction to vinegar and T3 is but I wouldn't want the vinegar to interfere. The iodine protocol is as follows and must be taken everyday: 3/5000 mgs of vitamin C 200 mcgs of selenium 400 mgs of magnesium Celtic sea salt (up to one tablespoon a day if needed) http://breastcancerchoices.org/bromidedetoxsymptomsandstrategies.html Use this link to learn about the iodine protocol and healing. http://optimox.com/ Use this link to read more research, etc. Start the protocol 2 weeks before starting iodine to prepare the body. Vinegar helps to grow red blood cells and it also corrects the alkaline/acid in the system. It will do this immediately. Cheers, JOT > I have just been reading your later post thanks for all the information. Will it have any interferance with my T3 at all ? >
Guest guest
Hi Steve > I think the angry could well be low cortisol, as sometimes i wake up like that. I get this too sometimes, and feel really horrible and ruminate endlessly about various people (i do not use the word 'people', to describe them) and various bad things that have happened to me. it goes when I take HC. For me this is an adrenal symptom. > I dont want to go on any adrenal support again unless i have to 100% When i am on adrenal support apart from the constant peeing, and raised blood sugars i feel better yes. Ok is this endo testing your adrenal function? If i were you i would want him to do a 24hr urinary free cortisol to see how much you are producing on a normal day, before he gives any synacthen tests etc. Can you push for this? Recently i mentioned some tests to you and you weren't sure what they were- can you research these? I would also want to see my CBG and 9am cortisol levels, if I were you, to see how much of your serum cortisol is actually free for your body to use. Were you only ever on HC, or did you try something like pred or medrol? > As for the metformin i built up to 3000mg, 2250 i think is the max, but i guess me issues were not of insulin resistance. but you initially felt some improvement from the metformin? do you have any idea why that might be from? > > Yeh my immune system is not fighting off the yeast, and i think the lymth glands most of them are swollen all over my body... behinds ears, under arms, groins ect ect which is probably my body failing to fight the yeast. I don't know much about the immune system - is this endo checking whether there is something underlying causing problems? > I take Vit D and have a light box almost set my room on fire tho as is WAY too brigh so i covered half of it with a calendar then within 20 mins it was smoking lol what dose of Vit D? Have you had your levels checked? What about iron ? Have you had copper levels tested, too? zinc? > I am becoming more and more unable to see the disatance very clear regarding my eyes. is that 'just' your eyesight deteriorating do you think or do you feel this is related to your current problems somehow? Do you take Vitamin A, have you been tested for it? http://www.lasik-pages.com/how-vitamin-a-effects-your-eyesight.html I have been given a high dose Vitamin A, which helps me. I was taking this brand for a while: http://www.amazon.co.uk/-Labs-Vitamin-10000-gels/dp/B002X9X13O/ref=sr_1_6\ ?ie=UTF8 & qid=1321212624 & sr=8-6 - i would ask if you could get tested for vitamin A. Taurine is linked to the eyes, too. I read that taking cortisol can deplete taruine but i can't find the link right now so i may be wrong on this one. > > It's probably going to be one of the b vitamins in it isn't it? Riboflavin, perhaps? Yes but is this dangerous because certainly is not natural I don't know, google it, i doubt it ? > > What anti fungal is he going to prescribe? Did you ever try NDT and did it not help? - no chris im afraid not i came about things in the wrong order due to doctors not being able to help me. Ok, have you discussed with Dr Peatfield whether NDT would help you? Or do you feel you are best on T3? if i remember rightly you had high rt3 levels? have you looked at correcting the issues that can sometimes cause those? you're probably aware that some t3 is made in the gut, too, tying in with your suspected leaky gut/ candida? http://wellnessalternatives-stl.com/library/hairloss_print.htm " Thyroid hormones are activated in the gut, where inactive T4 is converted to active T3. Gut inflammation will alter the conversion, resulting in decreased T3 production. High Cortisol affects Thyroid significantly in several ways: •TSH suppression •Decreases the amount of T3 available •Increases the amount of Reverse T3, which is totally inactive and irreversible by the body •Creates T3 receptor site resistance " I mentioned the book 'the stress effect' to you recently, and you mentiond about leaky gut - are you going to look into this more? If you have candida it may all be related? Slippery elm is supposed to help leaky gut, too as is l-glutamine? > > If it were me I'd go back to basics and see what the symptoms matched, Ok, your symptoms come up as: ACTH is possibly deficient Aldosterone is probably deficient Cortisol is probably deficient Insulin is possibly deficient Thyroid Hormones is possibly deficient >From tha charts it seems aldesterone and thyroid are the ones causing me the worst problems. Cortisol (adrenal) and aldosterone (adrenal) score highest, then thyroid? > Especially interesting the aldesterone one. Since i used to be on quite a high dose of florinef. Ok, i read from a couple of sources that if you are on a hormone and stop taking it, then your body will go back to it's usually poor state of functioning in regards to that hormone - so if you were low on something and take a replacement dose, then stop taking it, then you'll be low on it after you stop, too. did you feel better on florinef? > I think i get really down/upset when i have no healh plan. What Iron are you taking? have you checked copper, too? zinc? are you going to take a good probiotic (iherb have some very good ones)? have you heard of molkosan - http://www.avogel.co.uk/molkosan/index.php - it's supposed to help feed good bacteria. It sounds like a good idea to get your adrenals fully checked out, including aldosterone, cortisol, CBG and ACTH (how hard are your adrenals being told to work?) Guest guest
Steve is it worth getting a test to see if you have any other problems apart from candida? Genova do a stool test http://www.gdx.uk.net/index.php?option=com_gpanel & Itemid=2 & task=view & nav=test & id\ =66 as do: http://h-pylori-symptoms.com/sales-pages/h-pylori-testing/ chris > > I have just read all the replies thank you, i knew the group could give me support. i will reply to yours in a minute, ty for the lengthy response

Guest guest
Iodine is used by the thyroid gland to make T1, T2, T3, T4. The numbers behind each of those 'T's is the number od iodine molecules attached to the thyroid hormone. The thyroid gland makes mainly T4 and one of the iodine molecules is removed we ordinarily have T3, however removing a different iodine molecule can make rT3. The iodine that is removed is recyled and not wasted. The other tissue that needs iodine is the breast tissue. Commonly women with hypothyroidism also suffer a higher incidence of breast cancer and this is thought to be one of the reasons why. (obviously hypothyroid men are at similar risk; but hypothyroidism will affect 10 women to every one man). Iodine used to be used on the skin at operations as an antiseptic; it is also antifungal. However, I think it would be worth trying another anti-fungal at the same time, so get rid of the yeast infection. There are some doctors out there who state yeast in its invasive state is a precursor to cancer. Certainly hypothyroids are more commonly likely to suffer cancer of some sort. Whether that is or isnt the case, without doubt it is important to get the yeast thing sorted. When this is under control (and its a lifelong committment) the adrenals and thyroid will be much easier to sort out. I know my adrenals are not fully up to scratch, but i do not want to go back on adrenal support. One theroy i have is that my thryoid T3 is not being utilized properly maybe due to low iron and low cortisol, so lowish T3 is not quite enough for my adrenals. What is the purpose of idodine, to get your own thyroid working better ? or make the thyroid you are taking work better ? Guest guest
Sorry to hear you are having so much trouble. It can be complicated to get well when you have several health problems at once. a White's anti-candida programme has 4 components, so you could check whether you are attacking it on all fronts: (1) no-sugar, no-yeast, low carb diet (2) supplements to make up for any vitamin or mineral deficiencies (3) probiotics to re-establish good gut flora (4) anti-fungals such as capryllic acid I'm not sure what you mean by " normal foods " . Some people believe we should never have started eating sugar or refined carbohydrates and that any processed foods are bad. I have resigned myself to never going back to " normal foods " . If that is what it takes to be well, I would rather eat an unorthodox diet and have good health. Miriam > > The endo who im seeing on the nhs is going to prescribe me a few months worth of anti fungals but if after a few months they are not working then there is no point to keep trying i will have tried every single thing possible to get rid of the candida. I just want to be able to eat normal foods and have a gf ( >
