ENO misdiagnosis?

Hello all, today I went to the hospital for an appt with an ENO chappie

(chappess as it turned out) regarding my puffy neck, tight throat, difficulty

swallowing and blocked sinuses which endo doesn't seem to think is hypo related

(!). So after prodding me with various medieval instruments of torture, and

shoving things up my nose and down my throat, it was pronounced that I had

excessive stomach acid and I was prescribed Nexium (esomeprazole magnesium). At

this point I would like to say that she was a very nice lady :) However, my

usual distrust of docs and their diagnoses' came to the fore and so I did my

research as always, and discovered that with people of my age (62) and

hypothyroidism, the problem is almost certainly too LITTLE stomach acid rather

than too much. I therefore have decided not to cash in the Nexium script, but

have instead ordered a course of HCL Betaine from iHerb.com. My decision was

compounded by the fact that this was one of the trio of drugs prescribed for my

HPylori which almost killed me (and which I eventually cured with herbal

supplements and manuka honey).

I hope I've done the right thing...
