Guest guest
Hi fellow hypothyroid sufferers. I don't usually post on this forum but was told that I was mentioned by a member on here. I thought I would put the record straight with what happened to save people guessing. I was not told not to mention the thyroid medication that I take. The only thing that I was told, which is quite understandable is specific doctor's names. I take 200mcgs of purified levothyroxine which is prescribed by my GP after my NHS Endocrinologist prescribed it. I also take 1 grain of naturethroid which my Endocrinologist has asked my GP to prescribe but my GP refuses. Therefore I buy my naturethroid online. Since being well my blood test results have been TSH <0.02 and my Free T4 23.9 (lab range 12 to 22) and if it was up to my GP she would have me lower my dose. I have tried to lower my dose on a few occasions but can barely function. Many of you may also be members of the www.thyroid-disease.org.uk forum where you can read my story in the success stories, I am called CC on there. Also I am Suze on the Thyroid UK forum (Health Unlocked) and my story is on there too should you be interested. I was terrified about going on tv but would do (almost) anything to help anyone who suffers. It has taken me 5 years to get better and like several thyroid advocates, I want to help others. Dr Steele is a legend and I am sure that you agree he made his views loud and clear about doctors listening and looking at the patient as well as blood test results. I have received hundreds of messages and am overwhelmed as people have said that they feel confident to fight for a diagnosis. Thanks for reading, Sue
