Hi :

I'm in Ontario and do not believe you can get a test in this country. It seems like Canada is way behind the times and the US has everything available. You don't need the test anyway. Just go for it.

Start off VERY SLOWLY like I did at one drop of 5% Lugol's Liquid per day. And add a second drop in the 2nd week. I took 12 weeks to reach 12 drops daily.

In the US people can't seem to find a BOTTLE of Lugol's Liquid because I believe they have to have a prescription but in Canada I buy mine at the Pharmacy for $12. that lasts about 6 months.

I am Hypothyroid with weak Adrenals but not on any medication. I would rather be tired that take MEDS.

I don't think the tiny amount of Iodine in the Multi will make any difference at all. Well, of course it won't. I'm taking 75,000 TIMES MORE than what is in your Multi and I have normalized my Thyroid, gotten rid of my Diabetes and Neuropathy, Sinus and Lung Congestion and raised my body temperature.

Out in Tahoma, Washington (near Seattle) where the famous Dr. Jonathon has his practice he has written an article that you might like to read about how he treats his patients with Bi-Polar Disorder, here is the LINK http://tahomaclinicblog.com/lithium-the-misunderstood-mineral-part-1/

Your diet is an integral part of your overall health and you must get that in line in order to be balanced. Your DIET ALONE could improve many of your health problems. Your Thyroid and Adrenals NEED NUTRIENTS in order to function properly.

Don't wait to 'normalize' any other things because the Iodine will likely fix it all in time. Dr. Brownstein says in his IODINE BOOK, that for Adrenals and Thyroid and Hashi - YOU NEED IODINE.

You can write me DIRECTLY if you want to chat or ask questions.

hi in NS Canada

I am your neighbor in Maine :)

I have never done the iodine loading test and I have taken 100mg Iodoral for several years. I don't think the test is necessary but you might find it interesting--join iodine group and they will send you the info. you will get a lot of relief from (enough) Iodoral, thyroid and adrenal meds.

I'm new here and have a few questions. I'm sure I'll have more later. I will try to give enough background info without giving you my life story. My name is and I live in Nova Scotia, Canada. I've been a member of the NaturalThyroidHormones group for about a month now and have been doing a lot of reading. I have a family history of hypothyroid and Hashimoto's. I have many symptoms of hypothyroid and bipolar mood swings. Current doc says I'm fine. Based on the few tests I convinced him to run, the NTH group agrees with me that I am hypothyroid and may have Hashimoto's. I also have symptoms of adrenal fatigue. I did the 4x saliva test and hope to have results soon. While I wait for an appointment with a new doc, I continue to research. And in some ways, I am more confused than ever.I've always had a very poor diet (which I am trying to correct) and imagine I am deficient in many nutrients. I was planning on starting a multiple vitamin-mineral supplement and then adding extra of certain ones. I've read the controversy about iodine, and I'm concerned about the iodine in the multiple I am considering.Where can I get the iodine loading test in Canada? I checked the three links at http://www.iodine4health.com/ortho/iodine_loading_test_sources.htm One is a broken link and the other two give no information on the site about ordering the test. Are any of those that are listed in the new member Q and A available to Canada? If I am deficient in iodine, should I wait to supplement iodine until I get other things under control (such as iron and adrenals)? I've read that detox can stress the adrenals. It seems that I need to correct a lot of issues and I'm trying to decide on an order of operations here. I don't want to start too many new things all at once.Could the 225 mcg of iodine (as potassium iodide) in the multiple cause an antibody attack or detox? in NS, Canada

Thanks for the lithium article. I have discussed taking a nutrional dose

with my nauropath. It's not available in Canada, though, as a supplement.

I should be able to import it.

I realize that it's quite possible diet and supplements alone will fix my

issues or at least improve them, but I think that will take a lot longer

than medication. I need immediate support for thyroid and adrenals so I

can have the energy and motivation to continue working on everything

else. I have managed to maintain very healthy eating for as long as 2

months, but then mood swings to other extreme and everything goes out the

window. I never notice a single improvement in those 2 months and it is

such a struggle for me, so I have no motivation to continue. My hope is

to start with meds, work on getting things balanced, and then try weaning

off meds.

I'd really prefer to get tested. Seeing proof that I am deficient and

proof that it's working gives me motivation to keep at it.
