As a cost cutting exercise (not necessarily from the GP but from the hospital lab) they delay tests for a few weeks.     My GP (or it could have been the consultant) gave me a blood test form for various things.    When the results came back there was a note at the bottom that some were not done because they had been done within the previous six months.     The D3 was not done because the doctor had not put on the form why he wanted it done.

My sisters GP insists 8-10 weeks before retesting TSH when she has only just started on levo? we all know its 6 weeks, they will not increase her until she has the test. I told her to ditch the GP they are about as useful as a chocolate teapot. I would have ditched them weeks ago, why do people always believe that a Dr know our bodies better than us? and that a test knows us better than we know ourselves.
