Guest guest
Hi : As far as extra supplementation of B vitamins, it's best if you have your levels tested but for the average B complex, this will give you basically what your body will use up during the course of the day. For instance, if your B's are basically ok, but your B12 levels are low, you'll need to supplement with extra B12. If you need extra B12 at 5000 mgs a day or 1000 mgs a day, that would depend on how low your levels are... these levels do not raise overnight, it takes months to get them up to the correct levels. The B complex which I recommend is pretty much the perfect *basic balance for everyone* which is why I suggest this one over any others. http://www.iherb.com/Jarrow-Formulas-B-Right-100-Capsules/110?at=0 From here, you'd add in anything else you need to raise, like perhaps more folate or pantothenic acid, etc. etc. You must always take a b complex if you are supplementing other B vitamins. I try to stress this as much as possible because I see a great deal of people getting in trouble and they don't know what has gone wrong. The balance of B vitamins gets overlooked as the culprit but often is. Out of balance bs are basically going to make you feel *off balance* and not well. When you look for a B complex, use the reference on the bottle here. If the product you're looking at does not have these ingredients or in these particular amounts, skip it. Iherb.com ships to AU all the time, every day. You can feel good ordering from them, they are usually received within a weeks time. Vitamin B1 (as thiamine mononitrate) 25 mg Vitamin B2 (as riboflavin) 25 mg Vitamin B3 (as niacin) 25 mg Vitamin B3 (as niacinamide) 100 mg Vitamin B5 (as calcium D-pantothenate) 100 mg Pantethine (Vitamin B5 derivative) 25 mg Vitamin B6 (as pyridoxine HCl) 25 mg Vitamin B6 (as pyridoxal 5-phosphate) 10 mg Vitamin B12 (as methylcobalamin) 100 mcg Folic Acid (folate) 400 mcg Biotin 300 mcg PABA (para-aminobenzoic acid) 30 mg Choline (as choline bitartrate) 50 mg Inositol 50 mg As far as magnesium, I really don't know anyone whose levels are good unless they are supplementing. Magnesium and potassium need to be at the top of the range. 400 mg of magnesium is the basic everyday dose. Of course this will be too much for some and too little for others. This will apply to all meds and vitamins. With the copper and zinc, they need to be in balance as well. If you need to supplement this, than do it in a balanced supplement: http://www.iherb.com/Jarrow-Formulas-Zinc-Balance-100-Capsules/278?at=0 It is often difficult when you get opposite answers when asking a question on forums. This will usually deter a person's healing journey because you don't know who to listen too. This is where your own higher consciousness and intuitive comes into play. Use it, it'll save you time and money. I understand that you are not happy being on the Aborigine camp grounds but I wonder if your diet is good? Are you getting plenty of good organic foods/vegetables and fruit, whole grains on a daily basis? I haven't been on Aborigine grounds for several decades but when I was there, I was fed well. What part is your diet playing in your overall health? Cheers, JOT a vit B complex was recommended, along with magnesium and zinc. I have no idea what are suitable doses of B vits or mag/zinc, and would appreciate guidance -
Guest guest
Hi Jot, Thanks a million for that info, that's exactly the kind of dosage guide I need... I'll print it off and take it shopping with me, and check out the IHerb site, too. Getting good quality veg is hard here - the locals live on junk food and although for 6 month sof the year there is fruit & veg in the sho, it's pretty old by the time it reaches us, and for the 6 months when we are cut off by the wet season with no road access there is no fresh food at all. I am leaving mid December, which is great but while I had originally planned to go back south in Aus or home to Ireland for a while, and get my health sorted, financial pressure means I have just accepted a position in Brunei for January... so access to a good online source of supplements will be pretty important. Thanks again! > The B complex which I recommend is pretty much the perfect *basic balance for everyone* which is why I suggest this one over any others. > > http://www.iherb.com/Jarrow-Formulas-B-Right-100-Capsules/110?at=0 >

If you need extra B12 at 5000 mgs a day or 1000 mgs a day, the measurement should be in MICRO GRAMS (mcg)rather than milligrams (mg) 1 gram = 1000 milligrams = 1000000 micrograms. it is a commonly made error!
