Guest guest
Hi Prem and welcome to our forum where I hope you get the help and support you need. First, we really need to know a bit more about you. How long have you been suffering symptoms, what other blood tests you have had done, what the actual results were for your thyroid function tests you had done and what were the reference range for each of the tests done. We need to know whether they were at the top, the middle or the bottom of the range, or even outside of the range. Get these from your doctor. A doctor cannot withhold any information from you that is in your medical notes under the Data Protection Act 1998. Also, it is a well known fact that doctors do not always know how to read laboratory test results and they believe that so long as the results are within the range, then you don't have a problem. This is so wrong. Let us know what medication you are taking and when last increased. Do you have any members of your family who suffer with a thyroid or autoimmune disease? Once we have some answers to these, we can progress this further - and yes, there is light at the end of the tunnel, as many of our members have found out. Luv - Sheila I am new here, and wondering if there's any hope for me. I have low thyroid symptoms, and my basal temperature never goes above 36.2 degrees, but my blood tests come back (just) OK. My doctor therefore doesn't want to prescribe anything ( except anti-depressants, which I don't want! ) I don't know what I can do. Thanks in advance for any advice you can share.
