Guest guest
My aunt was on this stuff and it made her very ill, withing a couple of weeks she was coughing up blood and was terrified she had cancer, in fact her gullet was inflamed and she had a bleeding ulcer. Alendronate is alendronic acid and if you have any stomach or digestive problems they will get worse. Most calcium tablets are worse than useless as you tend not to absorb it plus there is a higher risk of kidney stones. Glynis > > HI ALL > Having seen my GP today, I was informed that my blood tests and urine test was OK. > My GP is concerned about the fact that being on Prednisolone could in turn cause Osteoporosis, so has asked me to look into having ALENDRONATE. From what I have learnt so far about this drug is that it would not be good for symptoms that I have.
Guest guest
HI GLYNIS I am very concerned about the drugs they are trying to get me to have latley. The information that I already have is the same as what you have already said. I already have a Hiatious Hernia, and have been suspected of having an ulcer. Its also known to cause cancer, and I keep saying that it is Doctors and drug companies causing all this cancer. It is not good for patients either with kidney problems, and I have already been said to have a Duplex Kidney. Some of the side effects I already have, but to suggest a drug that can cause them to be worse. I already live in fear of the health service, but this shows that I have every reason to fear. Doctors do not even take the responsibility for what they prescribe, but blame drug companies that in turn take no responsibility. I will have to ask my friend if her Mother was on this drug as her Mother had, had hip replacements, and Thyroid related problems were in her family, but her Mother bled from an ulcer and there was some problem with the ambulance, and it was too late. She was given an antibiotic and died from kidney failure. The best thing I can do is to find another way of treating what I was informed of was Polymyalgia, and I wonder if there is a safe Homeopathic remedy. I already know the risk of calcium and kidney stones, and it is already felt that the coudy urine is caused by calciun crystals as crystals are the only thing to be found in urine specimens. You also have to be able to drink plenty with this drug which I cannot do. The fact that one cannot drink enough can in turn lead to kidney stones, so perhaps not enough thought by the GP here to even suggest this drug to me. Another side effect is that you may feel pain in hips groin or thighs before the bones break in fact Alendronate can increase this risk, at the same time this is why I am taking Prednisolone. At the end of the day I will be worse off, so I may well be better off without. (Wonder if the doc is getting some incentives (ie bribes) for prescribing this drug!! They have all kinds of rewards from mouse mats to all paid conferences in exotic locations, just a thought!) Guest guest
I find more and more that such doctors don't do these things for nothing Miriam. I guess we all need to make a living in some way. Just wish I could fathom out how to do it *grin*. Guest guest
HI SHEILA AND ALL I have decided against accepting this drug, as I have with another drug. I am also thinking about poor MO. If I ended up in such a bad state on these two drugs, first there are no emergency out of hours visits. One has to be fit enough te be able to hop on a bus to the Hospital where they are situated. The problem to this is " where are the buses " no nightly buses. Hospitals are so full of infected air that patients whose immune system is impaired would become worse with infection. Then up comes the antibiotic, and down goes the poor patient, but does the Doctor care what harm he has done let alone admit to the harm. NO he is getting well paid along with incentives to hand out drugs. Seriously I am going to look into safe alternatives and see if Homeopathic remedies can help with inflamation that is said to be Polymyalgia, unless there is a food source that can be used. Even my GP has to admit that T3 is a better treatment for me than T4, but I cannot say that about the NHS prescribed T3. He tried to tell me that there was nothing wrong in having Sodium Chloride, and I tried to tell him that Sodium Chloride has been refined with all the natural goodness removed. He said that he has salt and disagrees with the Government reccomendations on lowering salt consumption. He said he was fit and eats what he wants etc including salt, but he is very overweight, and next time he has a trainee Doctor with him I will put it to the trainee about my GP's weight problem. I might even go as far as to ask him what his GP says about his weight. Is it possible to get a GP to lose weight. He should know better as he is also a heart specialist. Would you all dare go this far. Would you say that he is a good example to his patients. Kathleen > > I find more and more that such doctors don't do these things for nothing > Miriam.
