Guest guest
i work in the dental field and we were told that its only toxic if its swallowed in huge amounts at one time(like the whole tube). if you can't find another paste what i would do is place a very small amount of paste on the brush for him. then you know he isn't swallowing much if any at all. basically he can just brush with water and be as effective in removing the sticky plaque. if he is prone to cavities or has a history of them you really need the fluoride. hope this helps. carrie --- rebelpfwife <chadderboxesmom@...> wrote: > I am about to put my son on the GFCF diet (pray for > me during this > time, b/c I just have this horrible feeling that my > son is going to > starve). Guest guest
Bit of an odd question, maybe. I'm in the middle of having a fair bit of dental work done and the dentist prescribed me some toothpaste due to extreme sensitivity to cold. I've not got it yet - not had the money spare to spend nearly £8 on a tube of toothpaste! But I am wondering about it. The prescription says it's 1.1% flouride - should I be avoiding it (bearing in mind I'm still not on any treatment for my thyroid itself, only supplements atm)? As an aside, I'll be asking for a new dentist for the last bit of the treatment - this one has completely ignored everything I've said and my reactions, from using very cold water to attempt a scale and polish right after she'd asked me if I was sensitive to it, to insisting that I would be fine with just one anaesthetic injection after I'd told her that my entire life one has never been enough and I am very sensitive to pain during treatment. Twice. It's not just the GPs who don't listen to their patients unfortunately! I'm starting to wonder if it's just part of NHS training... Guest guest
Brilliant thanks, I'll have a look for that now I've tried all the usual ones to no effect but didn't want to try a flouride one so that might be the ticket As far as the dentist goes - changed her, I'm seeing one tomorrow I've seen for emergencies before who has said he'll talk through my concerns first. That'll spare my nerves (and my adrenals, after the panic attack I had last time) a bit at least!
