Guest guest
Okay, since I've gone on Lugol's 7 % I'm confused after reading Bonnie's post. At 7% it is 3.40mg. I need 15 drops to get at 47.60mg. How can 12 drops of 5% be at 75mg?I rechecked my math on this. Can someone correct me or maybe I am right on with what I am taking and the amount and Bonnie is not taking as much as she thinks she is taking. Guest guest
Bonnie, he made it himself and said it came out to 6%. He's a math man so I'm sure he did this correctly. Wow, great news for you. I know Iodine does a lot of great things but to help you in such a short time is encouraging for me. I see myself having poor digestion as well, I quit yogurt and cream today, I only had a small portion of yogurt and some in my coffee for the last three days and I think the dairy caused me major problems so I stopped it altogether. I have done liver cleanses and take liver supplements too. Thanks for the info. I feel there is hope after all.LouiseOn Nov 9, 2011, at 2:13 PM, Bonnie Cole wrote: Hi Louise: While I was at 20 mg. per day of Lugol's Liquid of 5% (I never heard of 6%), NOTHING happened, except my digestion started to improve. Guest guest
: Lugol's 5% (assuming a roughly standard drop size, i.e. 20 drops per ml) yields 6.25 mg per drop of combined iodine and iodide; if, in fact, you are using a 7% concentration, the combined iodine/iodide yield per drop would be somewhere close to 8.75 mg, not 3.4 mg. A 7% solution is a stronger concentration than 5%, so if you are satisfied that your seller has provided an accurate statement of strength, the only remaining variable is the size of the droplet your dropper produces. If you are using a dropper that generates a smaller droplet you may be dosing accurately despite misunderstanding the concentration issue, but if your dropper generates a standard drop it appears you may have been taking rather more than you thought you were. Let me know if further information might be helpful. Regards, Megaera > > > > > > > >: > > > >Isn't that amazing? I wonder how that could have happened? Guest guest
Hi Akiba: You're reasonably close -- and 2% Lugol's being less concentrated gives a margin for error. If your dropper gives a standard size droplet the combined iodine/iodide content in the drop will be about 2.5 mg, with a bit of wiggle room either way. Your estimate of 22mg is probably pretty fair, possibly a bit low but not a crisis issue. Regards, Megaera > > > > > > : > > Isn't that amazing? I wonder how that could have happened? Guest guest
: Okay, we have confusion somewhere -- we just need to sort it out. First, we'll take it for granted that you have a 7% solution; this is stronger than 5%, more solid ingredients and less water, so normally we'd expect you to be dosing in lower drop numbers due to the higher concentration. When you looked up what the per-drop mineral content would be, where did you go, and did they specify a droplet size? Frequently, sites will give information based on lab equipment because it gives precise results; the problem is that lab drop formers can generate small drops, much smaller than the standard eyedropper droplet. For example, the drop size might have been described as 60 gtt/ml... do you recall any such specification? Regards, Megaera > > > > > > > > > > > > >: > > > > > >Isn't that amazing? Guest guest
Bonnie..will you now stay @ 75 mg? I just upped to 75 after years of 50 mg. I had body aches across my back and neck which I figured just goes with aging, completely disappear!! I even tested it to see if it could possibly be the iodine so I didn't take it yesterday and the aches came back. Amazing. Now I'm thinking in a few weeks I'll push to 100 and see if any other good things happen. BarbF In a message dated 11/9/2011 2:16:21 P.M.
