Stomach upset, dry mouth with thirst

Our Supplements arrived first so we started taking them daily with food.  My 16 yo daughter and I both experienced stomach upset, including not producing as much acid.  Taking a Betaine HCl 648 mg prior to each meal has helped.  The supplements we're taking are: Ester-C 2000 mg, Magnesium Clycinate 400 mg, Selenium 200 mcg, and a B-50 Complex.  Whenever we lay off the supplements (and so of course we stop the iodine too) the stomach pain and lack of acid issues goes away.  I was wondering if anyone knew what we might do about this?  As I really want to continue taking iodine.

The next thing that happened is that after starting the iodine I got very thirsty and experienced dry mouth at night.  I wake up at night and my tongue is dry and I'm terribly thirsty.  Even on days I don't take the iodine I experience this. Any ideas?  I followed 's recipe for 5%.  In his comments it says " 6.25 mg per drop " but there is also mention of 70 drops per teaspoon, and every dropper we have in the house gave 140 drops per teaspoon, so I've been taking 13 drops per dose which I figured at roughly 42.25 mg, and I've been taking that amount 3 times per day.

Any ideas on the thirst and dry mouth?  I've had very little detox symptoms - a headache one night that the salt protocol took care of, and three pimples on my face in the first week of taking iodine (I thought they were detox related because they were different from what I typically got).  I also take 2 grains Naturethroid and 5 mg Biotin first thing in the morning (but I've been doing that for a long time).  I have no thyroid.

My results so far (that I know of, I figure on the inside wonderful things are happening) since taking iodine have been mostly in my skin.  My hands look at least 15 years younger, it's amazing the difference is so great, and I haven't broken out at all on my chest, not once, since starting iodine.  All five of us have much softer skin since taking iodine.  My husband works in the Arctic circle and used to have a terrible problem with split skin on his fingers from going from warm to cold to warm to cold, but has hardly any now.
