Guest guest
Hi!!!! My daughter will be going for her blood work next week. Typically she goes in the morning and does not take her thyroid meds (ERFA) before the test. But over the summer she had a lobe and isthmus removed. I can understand the fasting if you have a thyroid and want to determine how your thyroid is operating with out any " help " . In this case if she fasts from her meds it will be artifically low because she is without much of it. I was wondering - what if she took her meds first thing in the morning and then had her blood work done around 3/3:30 pm. This would give a picture of how her thyroid and liver are utilizing the ERFA. Lastly, she is having the Plasma Renin and Aldosterone test done as well. I understand no extra sodium the day before and day of. But should she really concern herself with walking around within 30 mins of the test? I am wondering how practical that is in the waiting room? Thanks so much for your input - Have a blessed day, Luci
