Guest guest
Sheila, I can try to get time off work if it would be really beneficial to Dr Skinner. I cant take the whole week though (I live in Reading) Is there a day or time that would be best? Or do we have no clue what they would be up to? Also I am happy to send a letter - do you have an example letter that I can tailor to my own circumstance? Guest guest
Hi Issy, the more people we can get to attend Dr Skinner's Hearing at the GMC in Manchester, the better. We need the GMC Panel to see how well loved this doctor is and how much he is needed. If they remove Dr Skinner, where on earth are those people the NHS leave suffering supposed to go - there is nowhere, apart from Dr Peatfield, and he would definitely be unable to take on Dr Skinner's patients, he has too many of his own. Unfortunately, the GMC don't have a 'programme' so we are unable to say what days are best to attend and what are not. At the July hearing, it was a complete shambles - brought on by the GMC itself. The GMC had to sack their own Expert Witness because he had shown terrible bias against Dr Skinner - and they had not had time to get a 'new' Expert Witness, so all this was being raged about the first day, and then on the second day, we had to attend again to find out what they were going to do, and that was the day we found out that all of the 'Conditions' that had been placed on Dr Skinner for the past 3 years had been properly met by him, but that the GMC had not even bothered to check out that he had properly complied with them. There was a whole batch of papers that Dr Skinner had sent the GMC stacked high, unopened on the court room window sill, i.e. doctors referral letters, six monthly reports by Dr Skinner on each patient's diagnosis and treatment recommendations, follow ups etc. It was all quite appalling and the GMC Panel must have felt extremely embarrassed. The sooner the GMC is disbanded, the better. I honestly doubt that anything like this could happen in November, the GMC must surely be very careful, otherwise, Dr Skinner's barrister could well call for the whole hearing and case to be thrown in the dustbin. So apologies, can't give any advice about what time is best to attend. I am attending the whole 5 days - I don't want to miss a thing. Luv - Sheila Sheila, I can try to get time off work if it would be really beneficial to Dr Skinner. I cant take the whole week though (I live in Reading) Is there a day or time that would be best? Guest guest
Hi Issy, I'm afraid that such letters need to come from the heart, which don't, when you copy a pro-forma and the wise owls on the GMC panel will become only too aware of such letters and discount them - and we need every single one to matter. Just write what you think about Dr Skinner and the work that he does etc. I honestly don't want to put words into your mouth.
