Guest guest
Hi all, At the beginning of September (6th), I lowered my T4 (Thyrax) dose from 125 to 100, and began with T3 (initially Tiromel, later Cytomel). Things slowly began to get a bit better, and though far from well, some symptoms disappeared and some improved. Then I seemed to hit a peak where nothing changed. Now, in the last few days I seem to have had a relapse and symptoms are gradually returning. Last night for example, I was awake for hours with shaking inside, sweats and sleep apnoea. My current dose is 100mcg T4 and 25mcg T3. I understand that changes in the T4 dose take a few weeks to kick in, so I'm wondering if that's why symptoms are returning (not enough T4) and I should up my T4 to 125 (as it was before), although that would mean waiting weeks for an improvement, which is pretty daunting. Or should I up my T3 only to (say) 37.5 mcg, to see if that works, or up both the T4 and T3?? Either way the thought of going back to as I was before is pretty unbearable. I'm so depressed and tired that I don't want to get out of bed and feel as if my life is slipping away (I'm 62, so it kind of is ) Can anyone offer any advice or words of wisdom? I'd be so grateful. Thanks very much for reading.
