Hi Kathleen,

Here are the results with the added ranges:

My last lab test in May came back as the following (the lab test lists free T4

as " T4 (Free) " ; not sure if that's important):

TSH - 0.166 uIU/mL (Normal range, 0.465 - 4.680)

Free T3 - 3.75 pg/mL (Normal range, 2.77 - 5.27)

T4 (Free) - .98 ng/dL (Normal range, 0.62 - 1.94)

(I thought I posted this already, but I think it didn't go through. I apologize

if it double posts.)

Hi Kathleen,

Yes, I was thinking that she was incorrect. I'm also thinking of finding a

different doctor. The other stuff was for background.

I've already read through the new member docs and couldn't find answers to some

of my questions. Are you able to help me out with any of these:

Should I be worried about a thyroid storm if I take iodine at doses of 50mg or

comparable?

Also, if I decide to do the loading test, is it fine to do the 50mg of iodine

even though I'm

nursing, since it's just once? I read elsewhere on the list that you shouldn't

start that high when nursing because the detox products will be passed to your

baby and that 25mg was more appropriate in that context.

Thanks,

Faye

Welcome to CAST.!Sounds like you’ve done a lot of research and that lil will soon be well on her way to getting proper Early Treatment (ET). - Anyone knows if Dr. A in Miami is applying the fully Mehta process? ***I would ask if he is applying the casts on an edf frame and if he trims out the Mehta style windows. I would make sure that your goal with ET Mehta casting is the same as his.We heard that he might be doing something similar (Cottrell), but we would prefer the true Mehta process.- If Dr. A in Miami do not treat with Mehta, what would be an option where we can quickly get accepted? Try the Shriners in Greenville, SC. And/or the Childrens Hosp. in Birmingham, AL. Contact details will be in the database section of this group. We will be flying out of Fort Lauderdale (FLL). Our priorities are: Get the proper treatment and timing. - What would we need in order to apply for treatment elsewhere? **Gather her most recent xrays, photos of her back/front/side and beautiful face, any MRI/diagnostic reports, a brief medical history summary (in bullets) and a compelling letter stating that you have done your research on progressive infantile scoliosis (PIS) and that you must be sure that your darling doesn’t miss her opportunity at complete curve resolution with Mehtas Early Treatment Method. We understand that there is an application process and we want to make sure we collect the proper information to expedite the process. We are collecting all her Medical Records ourselves and will ask for copies of x-ray films and a CD with the MRI image (if the MRI is needed or done). Any tips on how to expedite the accpetance process?**Gather the contact details of the hospitals you choose and give them a ring. Ask them to provide the hospitals application and get their fax #, so you can fill it out and get her in whichever system, asap. Please let us know how the appts go tomorrow and let us know if you have any more questions.Sincerely,HRH From: infantile scoliosis treatment [mailto:infantile scoliosis treatment ] On Behalf Of ricardoperdigaoSent: Monday, December 05, 2011 12:46 PMinfantile scoliosis treatment Subject: Introduction and Questions Hi Everyone,We are (myself and my wife) very thankful to have found this support group and have read for innumerous hours and gained priceless information. We hope to share our experiences and help in the future.Introduction:My 14 months daughter () was diagnosed by her pediatrician with moderate to severe scoliosis. She has a lot difficulty walking and the curvature is very visible. We live in South Florida and have an appointment with a local Orthopedic Surgeon in Boca Raton tomorrow (Dec 6th). This Orthopedic Surgeon was recommended by our pediatrician. Our hope is to get the basic tests/information (X-Ray films, RVAD, Cobb, MRI, etc.) in order to properly diagnose her condition and in the future be accepted on one of the major treatment centers that are experienced with the Mehta process. We also set an appointment with a different local Doctor (Dr. A. from Miami Children's Hospital) on December 8th to check if he has the proper table and performs the treatment like it was taught by Dr. Mehta. My understand is that he worked with the Mehta process in Philadelphian, but I need to confirm if he is equipped or is treating with the Mehta process in South Florida. Being local always help, but we will only proceed if we are 100% certain that will get the same treatment she would get from the big Mehta centers like Washington, Greenville SC, etc.I work with IT as a Project Manager for years and I usually travel every week. I am currently traveling every week for work to Princeton, NJ. It is very close to Philadelphia (one of the places I read has good treatment). But I am open to fly my wife and to wherever have good treatment and can have it started a.s.a.p. Our understanding is that the sooner we get her treatment started, the best for her. But there are a lot wait to get the tests/results and be accepted into a treatment program. We will be sharing her initial results as soon as we get them (tomorrow I pray) and would appreciate any help on where to treat her and how to expedite the acceptance process.Questions:- Anyone knows if Dr. A in Miami is applying the fully Mehta process? We will post tomorrow with the information we get from our initial consult with the local Orthopedic Surgeon in Boca Raton, FL. We are hoping that they at least do the X-Rays tomorrow. Again, it has been a blessing to find this group and being able to learn so much about something so dear to our hearts. Thanks you in advance and all the best, and Rovane Perdigao

Dear ,

I am relieved to hear that you are getting some much needed answers to

the questions you have about 's PIS (Progressive Infantile

Scoliosis), and about Dr. Mehta's Early Treatment(ET) Method. You are

def. headed in the right direction in going to Greenville. The doc and

team there are highly experienced in ET and I know you will be pleased

with lil 's experience. Some docs prefer am MRI prior to ET

and some docs do not (depends on the case), so bring this up at the

appt. and the super doc there will help guide you. Please let us know

if you have any more questions on ET and keep us posted!

Sincerly,

HRH

Thank you and Amber! I really appreciated your replies.
