Guest guest
I am taking Lugol's for my thyroid problem, but was wondering if anyone has had the additional benefit of lowering their cholesterol with the use of iodine? Because my hypothyroidism went undiagnosed for years, my cholesterol has risen steadily over the years. I will not take statins, but will probably begin niacin. But just curious if anyone has had luck lowering their cholesterol with iodine use? thanks, Pam H.
Guest guest
My cholesterol has been steadily dropping since I started using Naturethroid, a natural thyroid hormone derived from pigs. I was over 280 and at last count was down to 218, I'm sure it's even better now, it's been a few months since my last test and I am taking the appropriate amount of thyroid, at last test I was at 3 grains, and now am at 4 1/2. I have also started taking Niacin since then, my CRP went from 12 to 4, so I bet that has made for better cholesterol numbers too. I had a few things tested but not cholesterol, wish I'd had that done too! I look forward to my next blood test! And I used to dread them! I hope you find good news too!On Oct 19, 2011, at 8:03 PM, pam52@... wrote: I am taking Lugol's for my thyroid problem, but was wondering if anyone has had the additional benefit of lowering their cholesterol with the use of iodine? Guest guest
Cholesterol usually comes down when the thyroid is properly treated. Iodine alone may not be enough. Don't forget the companion nutrients. Also check the adrenals. Cholesterol is a precursor to sex hormones. Buist, ND HC does iodine help lower cholesterol I am taking Lugol's for my thyroid problem, but was wondering if anyone has had the additional benefit of lowering their cholesterol with the use of iodine?
