Guest guest
Barb, We have a lot of experience with Lyme disease in our family and I've been active in Lyme forums for the last decade. To the best of my knowledge, the Lyme doctors are not using Iodine Therapy (yet), but it wouldn't surprise me if it doesn't catch on with them eventually because they are open to using a variety treatment protocols. Based on our family's experiences over the years, as well as what I've been learning about the science of how Iodine Therapy works, I'd opt for iodine therapy FIRST, BEFORE resorting to heavy-duty, long-term antibiotic therapies. I only wish that we'd known about Iodine Therapy 10-15 years ago. In the meantime though, if you want to learn more about current Lyme therapy options, here's a link for you: http://ilads.org/lyme_disease/treatment_guidelines.html - Click on the 3rd item, " Diagnostic Hints & Treatment Guidelines " by Dr. Burrascano. Here's a link to my favorite Lyme forum: http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi? Let me repeat though. Do consider iodine therapy as your first option. If you want to discuss the pros and cons of these various options further, contact me by private e-mail. > > Hi All, > I used iodine for history of breast cancer but was recently diagnosed with Lymes disease with babesia ( malaria-like parasite that goes along with Lymes 30% of time ). Guest guest
Hi Barb, sorry for your diagnosis. I have lyme disease (not lymes BTW). I was misdiagnosed for 35 years, and now suffer from autoimmune arthritic lyme disease. I followed Dr. Ritchie's protocol for 9 months and I really do not think iodoral has had any effect on my lyme problem. Iodoral has helped me in other ways though. And yes there are several excellent Lyme groups.
