Guest guest
Letmar, Nobody has replied to your message yet, so I'll make a suggestion although I'm not a moderator nor an experienced expert on iodine therapy either. First though, are you aware that Iosol is formulated in micrograms (mcg) vs. Lugol's which is formulated in milligrams (mg)? There is a thousand fold difference between these two units of measurement. http://www.iherb.com/TPCS-Iosol-Formula-II-1-fl-oz-30-ml/4785?at=0 - (Scroll down) Therefore, one drop of Iosol = 1830 mcg of iodine, or 1.8 mg. and 14 drops of Iosol = 25,620 mcg. or approx 25 mg. of iodine. You are correct that one drop of 5% Lugol's = 6.25 mg of iodine, and 16 drops of 5% Lugol's = 100 mg. of iodine. In other words, you quadrupled your daily dosage of iodine when you switched from Iosol to Lugol's! Most people start out at a much lower dosage of Lugol's and then build up much more slowly than you did. Here ia a link to the list of " bromide detox " symptoms that can occur when first starting iodine supplementation. Ovarian pain and spotting is not on the list, but keep in mind that this list of symptoms is based on the experiences of patients, most of whom started out at much lower dosages of iodine than you did. http://breastcancerchoices.org/bromidedetoxsymptomsandstrategies.html Therefore, you might want to take a couple of days off to allow sufficient time for detox clearance and then start all over again at a much lower dosage of Lugol's to see if your ovarian pain and menstrual spotting goes away, just to be on the safe side. > > Hello, > > I started taking iodine (Iosol 14 drops) 3 days ago. Guest guest
Hi Letmar,The iodine would help to get rid of the cyst, so the slight pain and spotting could be a sign of healing. The iodine and supplements help to detox the body, and often the parts that need detoxing and healing most have a “healing crisis”, they react and sometimes you feel worse before getting better. My guess is your body is clearing out the cyst and other junk from the ovary. I wouldn’t worry about it yet. Your body probably needs the high dose of iodine to get the job done, so as long as you feel comfortable and are not having major detoxing symptoms, keep at that amount. You have only taken one day, I would wait and see how it continues to go. Donna in IL Hello,I started taking iodine (Iosol 14 drops) 3 days ago.
