Guest guest
Hi Sue Thanks for letting us know how you got on, it sounds like progress - good that your GP is on board and is 'letting' you follow Dr Skinner's treatment as I think you were having concerns about that initially or even if the GP would refer? I have only heard good things about Dr Skinner, so I hope he helps you get well soon. Have you been tested for sleep apnoea, and have you considered melatonin, that can help people sleep better. The biotonin brand - 0.2mg, put under the tongue before bed - is excellent, just google biotonin and it'll come up What are you hoping the NHS endo will do that Dr Skinner can't? Is it to check other hormones, too? chris > > Hi Chris > Just wanted to let you know that I did get to see Dr Skinner, he has upped my Levothyroxine from 75/100 alt days, gradually increasing to 150mcg over 10 weeks, so now on 125mcg. He's written to my GP who has agreed to let me try & will prescribe so far, although have to have a blood test before I move up to the 150mcg dose!!. So far I feel a little better, consipation is better,
Guest guest
Hi Chris No I haven't been tested for sleep apnoea, I do sometimes wake up feeling as though I'm choking which I think is due to my goiter, as I am not overweight. I did try melatonin and have had homeopathic tablets too, but neither worked. I have had problems sleeping for the past four years since I started on Levothyroxine, I am convinced it's a side effect of the Levo. GP just reduces my dose and says I'm on too much, but even on a lower dose I still have poor sleep, have you heard of anyone before with this problem? > Have you been tested for sleep apnoea, and have you considered melatonin, that can help people sleep better. The biotonin brand - 0.2mg, put under the tongue before bed - is excellent, just google biotonin and it'll come up The reason I'm going to see the endo as well is because my GP is insisting that I do & I want to try to work with her, Dr Skinner is aware. Thanks for your suggestions, keep you posted. Sue >
