HI JAKI

I too feel that cancer and hypothyroidism are related, as both these conditions

are on my Mothers side, but so are heart problems.

I also feel that the drugs that Doctors give to Thyroid Patients such as

antisychotics before diagnosing Hypothyroidism, can cause the cancer. I was put

on such a drug before being diagnosed and this drug in turn caused me to have to

have even more drugs, and I am sure in turn this caused me to have worse

Hypothyroidism needing yet more T4.

I was left on this drug for 14 years and a much increased weight as a result

with yet more problems to cope with including Breast cancer. This drug is known

to cause breast and liver cancer in animals.

Drugs that are used to prevent transplant rejections lower ones white blood

cells in turn can lead to cancer.

It is also my belief that in some situations that cancer can spread as a virus

does, and they now think that this can occur with alzeimers

and that it is caused by an infection, but they in turn fear that it can spread.

There are also many virus's etc and the more people there are on this planet and

the closer we live to each other including animals the more viruses there are.

We all have genes which can be kick started off with a simple virus.

Women are also more likely to suffer from autoimmune illness than the male,so

with having children who bring home all sorts of infections, just how many women

have developed autoimmune illness such as Hypothyroidism, and how many have

developed cancer as a result of incorrect treatment of their autoimmune illness.

I am quite sure that my elder Brother who died not long ago of cancer also had

undiagnosed Hypothyroidism.

Hello Kathleen Thanks for your input. I had no idea that cancer was a symptom of Hypothyroidsim and the subject caught my attention. It seems to be a strange combination and I'm sorry to hear about your brother. JakiHI JAKI

Hi there, cancer is not a symptom of being hypo, they are separate and are sometimes together, that is the problem is with the HT1 and the HT2 response. they are both considered autoimmune conditions. their is a long list of autoimmune conditions on the AADRA that is the American association of autoimmune conditions or something like that.they have a lot of interesting info

on all things autoimmune. angel.

HI LILIAN,

Could it be that my Mother did not have TB of the neck at the age of 5, but that

the lump on her neck could have been a tumour either benign or cancer and that

it spread to the brain. From what I have learnt about brain tumours that wnen

removed a meningioma can come back as cancer, and I do have to wonder if this

did in fact happen to her.

It is beleived too according to a GP that the heart problems on my Father's side

were due to Hypothyroidism, but with no known diagnoses one cannot be sure.

Could cancer actually be due to another autoimmune condition, and that reducing

white blood cells could start off these autoimmune conditions.

Could it also meant that if one has two genetic conditions one say from the

Mother and one from the Father that one of these genetic conditions can click

start of the other genetic condition, or is this getting too complicated.

Could also genetic conditions get worse with the ever increasing population on

this planet, after all we do seem to be getting more unhealthy to what our

ancestors were.

> All my fathers side of the family including his mother suffered from

hypothyroidism and those who are still alive still do, yet we have not had one

incident of cancer. On my mothers side they all suffer from diabetes and one

cousin died in his late fifties of cancer, another died of a heart attack in his

early sixties, and another cousin died of leukemia when she was 9.

HI all,

I don't think Danni has straightforward hypothyroidism - I would say the weakness and the weight loss are adrenal related - as you lose weight when your adrenals are compromised. Yes her thyroid has gone out too but that is because of the adrenal/thyroid connection.

best wishes

Mandy
