It's normal for TSH to go up when starting iodine. What are the ranges for the FT4? Did you have a FT3 test done? Both those Free's are the tests important to find out thyroid function. Please post more info if you have it. Best, Kathleen

OK, I just got the blood test results for thyroid after taking iodoral (12.5mg) daily for about 10 weeks.TSH = 9.71 (went up from 4.88 3 months ago)Free T4 = 1.42 (went down from 1.72 3 months ago)Anything to worry about?I am going to start armour from tomorrow (stopping synthroid) and hopefully that will help.
