Guest guest
Hi Y'All, BINGO! THIS is exactly what I'm trying to address here that Robin (thank you) so well summarized. J. Crow on their site specifies 5 mg / 7.5 mg as Robin commented. That is NOT a 1:2 ratio which Dr. Brownstein lists (per Robin's comments below) as " 10% Potassium Iodide & 5% Iodine - which is a 1:2 ratio. And WHAT is the difference - the difference is a whopping 50%. In another words, IF Lugol's Solution is suppose to be 5% Iodine to 10% Potassium Iodide, (1:2 ratio), and J. Crow's and Iodoral only provide 5mg / 7.5 mg (1: 1.5 ratio) then in a nutshell - the Iodide component is lacking by 50%. i.e., the Iodide is only 50% MORE of the Iodine, versus DOUBLE of the Iodine. It's really a simple question: 2 parts (twice) the Iodide to the Iodine is what Dr. Brownstein lists as Lugol's, so that should be 10mg of Iodide to 5mg of Iodine - NOT 7.5mg Iodide to 5mg Iodine. I'm not trying to split hairs - but this is at the very basis of the what the ideal ratio is suppose to be! Thank you, Trisha > > I checked Iodoral tablets and they have the same ratio as the J. Crow's Lugol's Solution: a 12.5 mg tablet contains 5 mg of Iodine and 7.5 mg of Potassium Iodide. In his book " Iodine, Why You Need It, Why You Can't Live Without It " Dr. Brownstein lists Lugol's Solution as " 10% Potassium Iodide, 5% Iodine, 85% Distilled Water " . At the same time, he recommends both Lugol's Solution and Iodoral interchangeably. Maybe the difference isn't significant? > > Robin
