Guest guest
Hello Krys, Oh dear, cleaning the hoover is not a good idea when having mites. The first thing I've purchased in the beginning of my infestation was a good Dyson vacuum cleaner. This one is claimed to be perfect for allergic people and has some really good filters, but the best thing is that it has no paper bags to be changed. One pest controller advised me to get one w/o bags, since the mites do escape from there again. I have only just now emptied the dust container of the Dyson, poured the content very carefully into a plastic bag and sealed it with duct tape before throwing it into the garbage bin. Took me about 1 1/2 years to fill that dust container and I did hoover...one could say it is one of my hobby's now, lol The second item I got was a dehumidifier for those nasty hot and humid days and just recently I've purchased a very strong fan, because we do have the same wheather conditions in Germany right now. This blower even helps when it is pointed into the opposite direction, means not directly on me. I just keep it blowing behind the couch and it does help a lot. The Doxy can be ordered online. There are many pharmacies delivering without prescription. I might follow 's recipie of dissolving one pill in water and massaging it into hair and scalp. A big hug for your mum, tell her to not get discouraged as she will do get better. I have been devastated for about 1 1/2 years, the first 8 months I was not even aware what I was dealing with... and I am now living an almost normal life again, all with the help of this great forum ! > > > > > > > > > > > > From: Cecilia Borg <ceciliaborg@> > > > Subject: Re: Finding a Doctor > > > To: bird mites <http://us.mc1134.mail./mc/compose?to=birdm\ itesorg%40> > > > Date: Wednesday, July 6, 2011, 8:56 AM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > THis sounds great, hope you get a catch! > > > C > > > > > > > > > > > > From: Benton <sarahbenton48@> > > > To: bird mites <http://us.mc1134.mail./mc/compose?to=birdm\ itesorg%40> > > > Sent: Tue, July 5, 2011 10:21:47 PM > > > Subject: Finding a Doctor > > > > > > > > > > > > My sister called, " In Need of Diagnosis Inc. Guest guest
Hi Krys, That sounds a very pretty area you do originate from. I have been to London for 3 days which I liked very much, but not on the outskills. Have also visited York with it's impressive Minster. The Lake District my boyfriend always wanted to take me to, but since his family has got so many members, we just never found the time to make it there...and he keeps telling me how beautiful it is around there. Last year we've been travelling to Liverpool, I was under the impression of finding a dirty city, especially down the docks. Been quite the opposite, real modern and clean with nice museums and art. Surprisingly nice and enjoyable that was ! > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > From: Cecilia Borg <ceciliaborg@> > > > > > Subject: Re: Finding a Doctor > > > > > bird mites > > > > > Date: Wednesday, July 6, 2011, 8:56 AM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > THis sounds great, hope you get a catch! > > > > > C > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > From: Benton <sarahbenton48@> > > > > > bird mites > > > > > Sent: Tue, July 5, 2011 10:21:47 PM > > > > > Subject: Finding a Doctor > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > My sister called, " In Need of Diagnosis Inc. Guest guest
Hi Aggi,My mother also has a Dyson but she & my stepfather also have three huskies so I think they have the Dyson for people with animals. I don't quite know why she wanted to completely clean the inside of it; I'd have thought it obvious there would be nasties in amongst the pipes & stuff. I also think a dehumidifyer would be very helpful; I been asking my mother to get a dehumidifyer for a while. The fan blowing the other way sounds like a good idea too, thanks. Usually I read the posts from the forum & sometimes she writes things down on paper; sometimes I forward certain posts so they are there for her to check again. So between the bits of paper & various posts I've forwarded over time, sometimes she will try a certain thing right away other times she will suddenly try somthing which may have been suggested weeks or even months earlier. Yesterday she bought MSM as suggested by you & others quite a while ago. She bought it at the whole foodshop so I hope the doseage is high enough, at the same time she bought some coconut oil, & some other oils, from an anti fungal recipe, I forwarded from this forum some weeks ago. She is very optimistic about the new doctor; she was told her blood tests done today were to test immunoglobulin levels & they have told her to collect a selection of samples which they will send away for analysis. The sample analysis sounds promising but the idea worries me, because without a microscope she can properly operate, it would be very difficult to tell whether a dot is a mite, fungus, or just a speck of debris so if she sends in lots of specks of soil or clothing they may think she is a nutter. Thanks for everyones helpKrysOn 12 July 2011 14:41, Aggi <aggi_assmann@...> wrote: Hello Krys, Oh dear, cleaning the hoover is not a good idea when having mites. Guest guest
Hi Aggi,I can understand why your boyfriend wants to take you to the Lake District, it is truly beautiful. Hopefully you will be able to visit soon. I have not been anywhere up north for very many years, apart from when passing through. I've looked from mountainous North Wales over the Mersey Estuary towards Liverpool, it looks huge & is an amazing view. I like London, it is a vibrant city with an electric atmosphere (though like any other big city, some parts are very grotty). In a way growing up in rural Surrey one gets the best of both worlds. My children grew up in he wilds of beautiful Wales & while I love Wales more than anywhere, I feel a bit sad my children did not grow up being familiar with London with all its history (though their ancestor stands on top of a huge column there). Guest guest
HI, Krys!Sorry to hear your mum is worse again, but good that she found a nice doctor. If the dr is nice enough he or she ought to be able to find information in studies etc, if they give it some time, which most of them wouldn´t , I guess.Tell her I said hello and give her some warm thoughts from me. I just hohpe things will get better for her soon.Take care!CeciliaFrom: Krys Brennand <krys109uk@...>bird mites Sent: Wed, July 13, 2011 12:57:45 AMSubject: Re: Re: Finding a Doctor Hi Aggi,My mother also has a Dyson but she & my stepfather also have three huskies so I think they have the Dyson for people with animals. Guest guest
Hi Krys, The infectious disease Dr. thinks I have histoplasmosis, too. He wants me to take Itraconazole, which is the only anti-fungal that works for histoplasmosis. You can't see it on my skin, but I can feel it, remove it, and put it under the microscope. I disolve the doxy in water and massage into my scale. I haven't felt movement since. The Dr. said that was a good idea. We have taken some pictures of samples and my sister will email them to me. Then I will show all of you and you can see what matches your mother. Love and light, My boyfriend is British, so we're visiting his family quite often.I love England, too. Just do not like all the rain there. You guys in the States just have the best wheather of all. When I used to live there, I could not believe that I needed to wear sun glasses almost every day, even in winter. Started dreaming about cloudy and rainy days, snuggling up on the couch with a blanket :-)) > > > > From: Cecilia Borg <ceciliaborg@...> > Subject: Re: Finding a Doctor > bird mites > Date: Wednesday, July 6, 2011, 8:56 AM > > > > > > > THis sounds great, hope you get a catch! > C > > > > From: Benton <sarahbenton48@...> > bird mites > Sent: Tue, July 5, 2011 10:21:47 PM > Subject: Finding a Doctor > > > > My sister called, "In Need of Diagnosis Inc." and shared our stories.
Guest guest
I thought I would pass this information on. I called Dr. Brownstein's office to ask for a referral in my state and the lady who answered the phone referred me to this website: http://www.acamnet.org/site/c.ltJWJ4MPIwE/b.5420171/k.76F0/Integrative_Medicine_\ From_ACAM__the_voice_of_integrative_medicine.htm (American College for Advancement in Medicine - ACAM) If you scroll to the very bottom of the page you will see a column titled Public Information and then under that Find a Physician in your area. You can then search with your zip code and miles from that zip code. It will give you a list of doctors, their specialities, and contact info. I actually found a doctor on the list for my zip code that accepts my insurance. If for some reason the link doesn't work just google ACAM and it should take you right to the website. Guest guest
Before booking your initial appointment with a doctor closest to your Zip Code, it is important to screen the office first by asking the receptionist a few questions in order to be sure that this doctor is experienced with (or is at least familiar with) the Iodine Therapy Protocol as taught by Dr. Brownstein at ACAM conferences. ACAM docs are open-minded about integrative (aka: alternative) medicine, but not all ACAM docs practive exactly the same way. Therefore, you don't want to spend money on your first appointment only to find out that your new doctor isn't familiar with Iodine Therapy, or even worse yet, that your new doctor makes radical modifications of his/her own to the basic protocol. If you can't find an ACAM doc within a reasonable commuting distance, then there is another similar group of doctors who are also familiar with Iodine Therapy because Dr. Brownstein has lectured at the annual medical conferences for both groups. This is the AAEM (American Academy for Environmental Medicine). In fact, AAEM and ACAM are holding their annual conference together this year, which goes to show how very similar these two groups are in many ways. Here are links to both websites: http://www.aaemonline.org/ http://www.acamnet.org/site/c.ltJWJ4MPIwE/b.6182915/k.5B78/PhysicianLink_Advance\ d/apps/kb/cs/contactsearch.asp As a last resort, if there are not any ACAM or AAEM docs within a reasonable commuting distance of your Zip Code, then you might call the diagnostic labs which offer the 24-hr. urinary test and ask them for a physician referral to someone in your area who sends urine specimens for iodine to their labs. Other groups of alternative doctors are familiar with Iodine Therapy also besides just AAEM & ACAM, and Dr. Flechas has lectured to some of these other groups, but I'm not sure which other groups these are. > > I thought I would pass this information on.
